James2 Posted August 22, 2019 Posted August 22, 2019 (edited) Carroll Shelby giving the GS Corvette a good look over. It's not perfect by any means, but it is finished. I struggled to get it this far with blind instructions, weather, paint and time issues. I learned a few things along the way and hopefully the #003 car will go smoother for it. This is the one of the A.M. kits, without P.E. parts and painted with Model Car World color match Pelham Blue. I use various Tamiya and Alclad on the chassis, wheels and engine. The flaws are pretty obvious but overall I'm happy, (To have it Done) Edited August 23, 2019 by James2
Phildaupho Posted August 23, 2019 Posted August 23, 2019 Congrats on your Grand Sport. Looks good. Really like the interior photo. More photos please. I hope to build one someday.
Dave B Posted August 23, 2019 Posted August 23, 2019 Looks good to me James. These are not an easy build but look the part if care is taken. Dave B
Gramps46 Posted August 23, 2019 Posted August 23, 2019 Looks really good and you can be proud of what you accomplished.
Rich Chernosky Posted August 23, 2019 Posted August 23, 2019 Interior work is outstanding and a nice job photographing it.
James2 Posted August 23, 2019 Author Posted August 23, 2019 Thanks guys, I think I'll do a little more detail and add the wipers. Just to match up to the photo better.
James2 Posted August 24, 2019 Author Posted August 24, 2019 Thanks again guys, I'll be working on finishing the #003 chassis next
spencer1984 Posted August 24, 2019 Posted August 24, 2019 Nicely done, looking forward to seeing #003
Shambles Posted August 24, 2019 Posted August 24, 2019 Nice job! I've got a couple of Xoto 1:18 die cast Grand Sports, but have never seen a kit. Is that 1:25?
Ulbo Posted August 24, 2019 Posted August 24, 2019 Tourned out very nice!!! I did not know Carol worked also with Corvette
James2 Posted August 24, 2019 Author Posted August 24, 2019 It’s 1/24 by Accurate Miniatures. The GS was built to beat Shelby’s Cobras. He was just being nosy.
TECHMAN Posted August 24, 2019 Posted August 24, 2019 ??? You're being a little too hard on yourself there bro!!!! That would look GOOD sittin' on anybody's shelf!!!! Looks GREAT!!!! DJ
Duntov Posted September 3, 2019 Posted September 3, 2019 Nice work James: Very well done and the vintage photos to go along with it are a nice touch... Regards Bill (Duntov)
Justin Porter Posted September 3, 2019 Posted September 3, 2019 It's not an easy kit but it's so worthwhile to see completed. Very nice work!
