Didn't realize he was that old. I remember when The Cars first hit the music scene and thought they had a different sound and I liked it. Lots of hits. Ric Ocasek was a talented guy.

Except he was only 70.

Born in 49.

Some sources say he was born in 1944 and graduated high school in '63.

Since we talked about that article that all the classic rockers will die in the next ten years, we have lost two!   Wow!

And Keith Richards is the last to go!

Yup!  50 years from now it'll be down to Keith Richards and Betty White!  ?

My wife said on the afternoon drive time show on talk radio they were asking callers who would be next...  One guy called in to say "Kanye West".   DJ said he's only like 42. Caller said, "Just hoping!"

With some of these old timers it's just a matter of when the drugs ware off. Ya I know let the hatters begin, but lets face it more than a few were not known for their healthy life style.

Showing my age, when Candy-O came out I got the cassette tape, and wore it out!  Great music.  Also tempting to do a vignette of the Candy-O album cover, just need to find a model of a Ferrari 365 GTC/4 and scour Shapeways website for the figure.  So many favorite musicians kicking the bucket lately, my favorite is Miley Cyrus.  ?~cough~?

Well "Sex and Drugs and Rock and Roll" was the mantra for many a rocker back in the day.

An acquaintance of mine a number of years ago said that it wasn't the model year but the number of miles when discussing people who looked older than their years.  I have a feeling this may be why a number of these rockers are not making it to their full years.

We have to remeber without the drugs we'd still be listening to bing crosby (nothing wrong with that, just an example) so they sure gave us something new, and something to blame for gabba music, lol

Your Bing Crosby remark has given me a very bad flashback. All of those old Christmas movies, Bah bah bah whatever.

And many literary works.  John Milton supposedly wrote Paradise Lost under the effects of an opium high.  He wrote the poem in the 1600's.
