Lorne Posted October 12, 2019 Posted October 12, 2019 Got the bug to build again, not sure what car/truck this bad boy will be going into? This is a 3D printed engine kit!! Crisp, clean and accurate! Love this stuff! The linkage was a head scratcher, I think it will work?? Just getting started will update the progress on the bench, now where's that torque wrench,.....??
gtx6970 Posted October 13, 2019 Posted October 13, 2019 holy cow, thats nice. Is that entire manifold and air horns 3d printed ? I need one of them for one of these Ford motors
matthijsgrit Posted October 13, 2019 Posted October 13, 2019 (edited) Magnificent!! Where did you get it? Edited October 15, 2019 by matthijsgrit

Lorne Posted October 14, 2019 Author Posted October 14, 2019 Hey Matthijsgrit, Landman is right! Shapeway for the 3D print, R&B motion for the rods, nut and bolts and Detail Masters for the photo-etch
Lorne Posted October 14, 2019 Author Posted October 14, 2019 Hey gtx6970 the air horns are from R&B motion! R&B motion and Shapeways nailed these products!! Keep on building!!
Deuces Posted October 15, 2019 Posted October 15, 2019 (edited) I've seen those before... I think they're from R&B also.... Edited October 15, 2019 by Deuces
Flat32 Posted October 15, 2019 Posted October 15, 2019 Yep, R&B has them in stock. Ordered some. Thanks for the info.
matthijsgrit Posted October 15, 2019 Posted October 15, 2019 Olson's stuff is great and I like the way you used it.
MeatMan Posted October 15, 2019 Posted October 15, 2019 Very well done! No easy feat working with linkage.
Codi Posted October 17, 2019 Posted October 17, 2019 Stunning pieces. Love the way you did the throttle linkage and gives me some ideas that I might "borrow" as well. Can't wait to see what you put these pieces to. cheers, tim
Spex84 Posted October 17, 2019 Posted October 17, 2019 Whoa! That's a beautiful model right there. Can't wait to see the rest of it :D
Lorne Posted October 18, 2019 Author Posted October 18, 2019 Power steering pump completed. Adding this to the Big Block!! Ended up scratch building. Treating each engine part like a model itself, kinda a cool way to approach the build i guess?
Modlbldr Posted October 19, 2019 Posted October 19, 2019 Beautiful! Simply amazing work and so realistic. Later-
djflyer Posted October 20, 2019 Posted October 20, 2019 wow, that's fantastic. Does that have a part number or name and what scale is it?
Lorne Posted October 20, 2019 Author Posted October 20, 2019 Hey djflyer The engine is from Shapeways 3D Model Specialties 1/25 scale, and the linkage is assorted rods, nuts and bolts from R&B motion, the photoetch is from Detail masters. I found a photo online of a cross ram that had that type of linkage, just tried to duplicate that. Close sorta. Sorry don't have part numbers Everything is a click and a credit card away! WARNING that can be dangerous! Thanks for kind words Lorne
djflyer Posted October 20, 2019 Posted October 20, 2019 I hadnt seen that style cross-ram before - will definitely have to do some shopping. And your warning is duly noted. ?
