Plowboy Posted November 13, 2019 Posted November 13, 2019 This is another build just for fun. I built it for an online contest on another forum. I wanted it to be as simple as possible. So, no details. The only parts not from the kit are the wheel covers (AMT Avanti), front tires (Revell '50 Ford), rear tires (Revell '48 Ford), headlights (Revell '40 Ford) and the air cleaners (AMT '36 Ford). I had never chopped a body style like this. So, I wanted to give it a try. I gave it a mild three scale inch chop. It was much easier than I thought it would be. I also did some fitment work with body, fenders and hood. I finished the body off with Tamiya Black and Clear. The engine is the kit Olds. The interior is stock and painted with Krylon Boot Brown. Thanx for checking it out!
Koellefornia Kid Posted November 13, 2019 Posted November 13, 2019 That's a very nice ´40! The mild chop works well with the sedan body! I like it!
TooOld Posted November 13, 2019 Posted November 13, 2019 Now that's one very sharp looking Tudor Sedan ! Those wheels and tires really finish it off nicely .
Modlbldr Posted November 13, 2019 Posted November 13, 2019 That looks very sharp. The chop looks very similar to one that I did on the same body. Your Tamiya black is great and encouraging. I am getting ready this morning to paint a 57 Chevy Black Widow in the same color. I hope mint turns out as clean. Later-
espo Posted November 13, 2019 Posted November 13, 2019 When I looked at the first picture I knew something was different but just looked so good. Then you notice the chopped top and how smoothly it is blended into the body it just looks like that's how it is supposed to be. I like the Hub Caps, they remind me if the old Moon full wheel covers. Great stance and the paint and finish shows a lot of reflection from it's surroundings.
stevehansen Posted November 13, 2019 Posted November 13, 2019 Oh So Cool, excellent build, super smooth paint
spencer1984 Posted November 13, 2019 Posted November 13, 2019 Very clean job on this, the Tudor Sedans have always been my favorite of the fat-fendered Fords
Hmann68 Posted November 14, 2019 Posted November 14, 2019 Hard to top a 40 Ford in smooth, shiny black! Looks great ?
thatz4u Posted November 14, 2019 Posted November 14, 2019 Classic build of a classic Ford, well done...
