I realize this pinstripe color is a little unconventional but I think I like it!

Blue, Silver and a Lavender pinstripe.

That looks great!

Looking good!  Are you brush painting the lavender?

Got all the foil work done on the '69 Galaxie I'm doing for BOYD. This comprised the four side marker lights (the other trim I'm doing in Deco Paint Premium Silver Leaf), and it took me an hour and a half because I had to mask around them all to keep the foil stickum off the paint.

,Progress on the Mustang this morning. Got the windows taped off and sprayed with Tamiya Semi Gloss Black. Trying to get this and my 57 Chevy (glued the window glass in last night) done by Saturday for a model show at the LHS.

Got the '70 Chevelle SS Magnum 500 wheels for my latest glue bomb rescue finished. The black portions took me about an hour yesterday, the flat silver spokes about a half hour today. Also got the interior detail-painted. Got to make a replacement for a missing taillight, then detail the grille area, and then nail the whole evil mess together.

After 4 stints in the Purple Pond. I think This will do. It a replica of my mechanic's Nova. I've never seen it. It's buried in the garage attached to his house. Such a shame to let it sit there and rot. So I can only go by his description He said it has no chrome rocker trim because he could find any reproduction of those parts.

Have made some progress with new headers.. then decided, after some good ideas for turbos.. to toss the new header and make turbo manifolds. Found a good placement of the turbos and a layout that will work. ?

I’m trying to break my summer slump and get back to the bench. I bought a Revell Mustang at a flea market for parts and decided to put the motor together hoping to get some inspiration. It sure is a nice intricate little casting.

I’d been looking for some tires for a salt flats build that I’ve been planning for a while, but I never found exactly what I was looking for…so tonight whilst I was digging through a parts box I found a bunch of those solid Goodyear tires that Revell used to like putting in every kit even though they looked terrible.  Figured I might be able to do something with them, perhaps.

Turned down fronts and rears in my lathe (an unmolested tire in the background for reference):

Got them to the approximate shape I wanted, followed by some hand-sanding, and then I cut some masks:

Got the gluebomb interior mostly taken apart.  As a bonus I discovered a mosquito encased in the old glue under the seats that I have been able to extract DNA from so I can clone some dinosaurs.

Thank you sir - this was mostly an experiment to see how well the material machined down...I think I'd like to try grinding a custom cutting bit next so I can easily (and consistently) lathe these tires down to the right profile and shape

Those look great! I really, really need to learn to use my Cricut! So much potential.

Got the taillight areas fixed on the thoroughly roached glue bomb '65 El Camino I've been working on. Long story short, I filled the whole areas with J-B Weld, then filed the correct body contours and taillight shapes back in. Took between 2 and 3 hours, but very satisfying work. :D

No it does not.

It looks just like this, except instead of red lenses and chrome bezels, that's all now gray J-B Weld. The taillights will be added by the magic of Testor Stop Light Red paint.
