PatW Posted April 5, 2022 Posted April 5, 2022 (edited) Today I've done everything to finish the Vespa 125 build. Fold up luggage rack, spare wheel cover, brake lever below it, front wheel suspension, kick start lever, helmet and helmet with goggles. See finished build on the completed section. Hope all is great. Yes these kits are expensive. But car modelers should try to get at least one. They are the center piece of a model room. Like David E Davis of road and track said. “ everyone should drive a v12 once in their lifetime “ well a car modeler should have at least one big scale car model in their lifetime. Had some people over the other night, and I had some 1/25 model cars out. They looked at them briefly but when they saw the 1/8 cobra we were talking about this car for awhile. Makes great conversation for non model car people.

Brudda Posted April 11, 2022 Posted April 11, 2022 Grill to the 166. Working on the engine also. Primed some parts. Fitting engine to chassis.
Joe Handley Posted April 11, 2022 Posted April 11, 2022 (edited) Not exactly a model, but plenty of assembly and decal work! A Power Wheels Toy Story Jeep Wrangler (JK 2 dr) that Dad and I build to give my Niece for Easter. I handled the decals, sub assemblies, helped with the final assembly, Dad handled the major stuff while I was dealing with the little things after finishing my Taxes and getting them sent out. BTW, some of the fit and parts warpage make the 50+ y/o model tooling look good! Edited April 11, 2022 by Joe Handley 1
Cool Hand Posted April 16, 2022 Posted April 16, 2022 Colour shift paint day today, well actually all done tonight. 2

Joe Handley Posted April 16, 2022 Posted April 16, 2022 10 minutes ago, PatW said: WOW! Yup, we just got it out of the house and into Dad’s van to take it over and give her tomorrow. Had to pull the safe he bought last Friday for him to put the stuff on and in his desk in (so I can use it) out of the van Before this could go in. We were surprised that this thing fit through the doorway better than Mom’s wheelchairs did, the house was built well before the ADA came about and the wheelchair she used the most almost didn’t fit and this barely had twice the space between the wheels and opening, so maybe 1/2” total on each side!
ksnow Posted April 16, 2022 Posted April 16, 2022 (edited) Gave the new spray booth its first test run. Works very well. Little to no fumes in shop, none in the rest of the house. Edited April 16, 2022 by ksnow Forgot pic 1
Bullybeef Posted April 18, 2022 Posted April 18, 2022 Wanted a tonneau cover for a Salt flat project in my head, the amt one is difficult to find. I have one in the mail somewhere between eastern US and Western Canada. So out came the elementary school skills and I whipped up some papier-mâché. Pleased with the results just need to add some paint detail and it will be ready. 1
Spottedlaurel Posted April 18, 2022 Posted April 18, 2022 Made use of the great weather here to get 'viable' paint finishes down onto a couple of current WIPs: The AMT Matchbox Hilux's solid red without clear looks like it will need minimal polishing, should be just right for a new truck look, not a show queen. The Toyota Celsior (Lexus LS400) will need a bit of Micromesh etc, but from experience the very fine peely finish it has now will polish out OK. I hope so, this is the second time around for it.... 2
Brudda Posted April 19, 2022 Posted April 19, 2022 Hello. Well getting things done on the DeAgostini ford GT. Doors, and center section mounted to the chassis. Had to modify the a pillar to get the doors to work properly. Not much more to go. 2
Cool Hand Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 Applied the clear to the bodies that got painted the other day. 2
Brudda Posted April 22, 2022 Posted April 22, 2022 Just received the parts for the rear of the ford GT. 1
