cobraman Posted January 25, 2020 Posted January 25, 2020 I wanted to try my hand at making a body . I knew it had to be pretty simple or it would be doomed to fail . After looking around I settled on trying to build on on the manor of the Uncertian T . Many people don’t care for this car but I like it and it does have a simple body . My version is a bit larger I think but I think it came out ok . The body was made with sheet plastic . A broken T bucket model I bought on eBay provided frame and other parts . Other parts came from my parts box . Interior is pretty much covered with red and black felt . Made the dash with gauges from the t bucket . Body was painted with Reving Red . Was a fun project .
Snake45 Posted January 25, 2020 Posted January 25, 2020 That's not half bad looking for your first such effort. I've seen MUCH stupider looking stuff being sold in boxes with very famous "designer" and "customizer" names on them. Millions of such kits were sold. Good to see you branching out from your long-time area of specialty/obsession. I TOLD you there was a lot of fun to be had in this hobby that didn't involve the products of The Late Great Mr. Shelby. Model on!
Bainford Posted January 25, 2020 Posted January 25, 2020 Cool build. Nice work on the body. Very tidy.
1930fordpickup Posted January 25, 2020 Posted January 25, 2020 Looks great Ray! Do you sleep ? That was fast.
cobraman Posted January 26, 2020 Author Posted January 26, 2020 Thanks Andy. Yes I sleep, maybe too much.
Phildaupho Posted January 26, 2020 Posted January 26, 2020 Very commendable first attempt. I think I saw that the Uncertain T real or replica is at the Grand National Roadster Show this weekend.
bobthehobbyguy Posted January 26, 2020 Posted January 26, 2020 Cool. Nicely done. What was the source for the chassis?
PappyD340 Posted January 26, 2020 Posted January 26, 2020 Very nice craftsmanship Ray, looks great here on the east coast!
2zwudz Posted January 26, 2020 Posted January 26, 2020 Ahhhh! Stretching the imagination!!!! Good job!
crazyjim Posted January 26, 2020 Posted January 26, 2020 Excellent craftsmanshuip, Ray, but I still don't like the Uncertain T.
Cool Hand Posted January 26, 2020 Posted January 26, 2020 (edited) Nice work on the scratch building, good use of spare parts and certainly looks some what like where the inspiration come from. Done well Ray. Edited January 26, 2020 by Cool Hand
slusher Posted January 26, 2020 Posted January 26, 2020 Well done Ray, I give you props! Keep the great building going!
cobraman Posted January 26, 2020 Author Posted January 26, 2020 Thank you all very much. The chassis came from a broken t bucket kit I bought on the bay. I believe it was one of the Revell t bucket kits.
Claude Thibodeau Posted January 26, 2020 Posted January 26, 2020 Hi Ray! Well... you certainly cleared any "uncertainty" regarding your ability to build a body! Brings back the 60's! CT
Plowboy Posted January 26, 2020 Posted January 26, 2020 For the first time scratch building a body, I'd say you did quite well Ray! Looks like a kit! Great use of parts and imagination!
cobraman Posted January 27, 2020 Author Posted January 27, 2020 Thank you guys. It's a pretty simple body.
Koellefornia Kid Posted January 27, 2020 Posted January 27, 2020 I give you the thumbs up! Great work!
Ace-Garageguy Posted January 28, 2020 Posted January 28, 2020 (edited) Very nice, especially the lines and proportions. Crazy show-cars can get to look really stupid. A lot of 'em do. But your design works well, much better than most, for an over-the-top custom rod. Edited January 28, 2020 by Ace-Garageguy
