Bennyg Posted January 29, 2020 Posted January 29, 2020 Don’t know the release date. Got it from Facebook from challenger models. On my list for sure. Ben Yep
stitchdup Posted January 29, 2020 Posted January 29, 2020 Sweet, thanks for the pics. I'll need to get one too
OldNYJim Posted January 29, 2020 Posted January 29, 2020 Oh nice! I’ve always liked these...I suppose it’s too much to ask for it to have engine detail too, but I’m sure it’ll be well done!

The grill looks like decals to me. No idea about the engine. Ben

Impalow Posted January 29, 2020 Posted January 29, 2020 This is exciting! Should be great for modern race parts, and is just a pretty race car. I think the first pic may be of their RC model.... just looking at the wheel nuts, window tint/texture and warning label inside the wheel well. Regardless the kit is going to be a nice addition.
TonyK Posted January 29, 2020 Posted January 29, 2020 This is great! And it's Tamiya so all should fit well and be an enjoyable build.
Bennyg Posted January 29, 2020 Author Posted January 29, 2020 Looks like the engine is confirmed by pics!
Rob Hall Posted January 29, 2020 Posted January 29, 2020 Found an article on the 1:1 from a few years ago, sounds like a sweet package. https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a15344295/race-ready-ford-mustang-gt4-turnkey-race-car-is-an-international-player/
niteowl7710 Posted January 29, 2020 Posted January 29, 2020 Weeeeeeeell it actually has the BOTTOM of the engine. There's no top half, and the hood is molded shut- the 3 big holes are for the hood vents which are solid pieces.
iamsuperdan Posted January 29, 2020 Posted January 29, 2020 I like it. Full detail would be nice, but curbside Tamiya's are still excellent
iamsuperdan Posted January 29, 2020 Posted January 29, 2020 Also, I'm amused that some got the "no photography" warning into their picture.
Gt fan Posted January 29, 2020 Posted January 29, 2020 A nice kit.. Its odd that they went to a GT4 car. I'm sure there will be a lot off retro decals offered for this kit. It would be nice to see a old school trans am mustang done by them 69-70 . It will have great detail and will look right when done. I jsut wish they would do the GT3 Acura or the Caddy Prototype. Now that the Caddy will be able to run at Lemans with some minor changes.
stinkybritches Posted January 29, 2020 Posted January 29, 2020 (edited) I hope someone makes a decal sheet for this car. Edited January 29, 2020 by stinkybritches Error
Gt fan Posted January 29, 2020 Posted January 29, 2020 Im sure Indycals will be on it with a bunch of different ones.
Jordan White Posted January 29, 2020 Posted January 29, 2020 To be honest, it looks like it wouldn't be crazy difficult to make it look more like a stock factory Mustang GT350. Lose the kit spoiler and scratchbuild a replacement, fill in the hood vents, add some stock looking seats, door panels, and modify the console and dash center. Regardless, I really want one! I've been itching for a full detail kit of the current gen Mustang and this will definitely work, despite not being stock, since it is Tamiya.
Mr. Metallic Posted January 29, 2020 Posted January 29, 2020 That's a great looking car. This will probably make my short Tamiya "must-have but will never build" list of kits. I plan to build them all, someday.
Merkur XR4Ti Posted January 29, 2020 Posted January 29, 2020 I'm definitely buying this one when it's released. What a sweet ride.
martinfan5 Posted January 29, 2020 Posted January 29, 2020 (edited) Well, another , didnt see this one coming, interesting they chose to do the race version, but nonetheless, cool to see another new modern subject being done. Its close enough to stock that one could make like a modified street version, more than likely that is the route I will take. Edited January 29, 2020 by martinfan5
