Plowboy Posted April 3, 2020 Posted April 3, 2020 Finished this one up today. Basically a kitbash with a Revell '48 F-1 and convertible. I used the pickup's chassis, engine block with an automatic from an old Revell Ranchero, bed, roof, rear cab wall, floor pan, dash and door panels. The convertible supplied the front clip, bottom section of the doors, rear fenders, engine accessories, wheels, hubcaps, tires and seat. Paint is Tamiya Gray Green with a coat of pearl and clear. Thanx for checking it out! Any questions, just ask. 1
Rusty92 Posted April 3, 2020 Posted April 3, 2020 Beautiful job! I watched your progress in the WIP thread and really enjoyed the progress you have some great skills. Thanks for sharing!
Misha Posted April 3, 2020 Posted April 3, 2020 I also followed your work, the result looks fabulous! The colour suits the build, understated and beautiful finish. Congrats Misha
Lunajammer Posted April 3, 2020 Posted April 3, 2020 Super, super classy. This is more sophisticated than it first appears.
espo Posted April 3, 2020 Posted April 3, 2020 Like so many others this was a very informative build to follow. The exterior finish looks perfect, the stance is just right, and I still wonder why Ford didn't build it this way in the first place. Not seen here but the chassis is just as nice as the body. I also like the way you built the Flathead engine.
Matt T. Posted April 3, 2020 Posted April 3, 2020 (edited) Beautiful build! A proper phantom too - Looks like it came from the factory that way, and causes a double-take. I love the color choices. Edited April 3, 2020 by Matt T.
TarheelRick Posted April 4, 2020 Posted April 4, 2020 That is such a sweet pickup. The body changes are subtle, but then also in your face. If it were at a 1:1 car show people would walk by and say, "Very nice restoration...Wait! Ford didn't build one like that, what is it?" Very masterfully done conversion.
DrKerry Posted April 15, 2020 Posted April 15, 2020 Very kool build Roger!! That is subtle but wicked kool!! I’ve got one going, well has been going for a few years but mine is different than yours! Who knows if I ever will... Liking yours though!! Great stance and the color is perfect on it!!!
