martinfan5 Posted April 14, 2020 Posted April 14, 2020 (edited) The recent issue of the 2003 Jeep Rubicon Wrangler kit with stock parts, its a typical Revell kit, the new tooled roll bar did not fit at all good, the wheels are undersized, but it was a still a fun kit to build. Outside of the crappy clear coat, happy with how it turned out for a I really don't care much build. Paint is Jeep Anvil from Scalefinishes. Edited April 14, 2020 by martinfan5
Plowboy Posted April 14, 2020 Posted April 14, 2020 That's a nice looking Jeep Jonathan! The color is perfect for it! Looks 10x better than the first one I saw! You've convinced me that I need one now. Does the snorkel have to be installed with this kit or can it be omitted?

Thank you Roger, you can omit it , you will need to fill the two attachment holes.
Goose1957 Posted April 15, 2020 Posted April 15, 2020 Looks really good to me. Nice Jeep. Now, I just need to get this version also. Dang, gonna be an expensive summer, lol. Jeff
espo Posted April 15, 2020 Posted April 15, 2020 Very cleanly built Wrangler. You mentioned the wheels seem to small, remember they only had 15 inch wheels at that time. Are these the kits tires ? They look like a nice upgrade from OEM's.

The Rubicons actually had 16" wheels, but the difference in height at 1/25 scale is only .04". It is possible Revell undersized them, considering how undersized the wheels look in the Bronco kit and that was a new tool as well.

Now that you mention it ours was a Sport model and not the Rubicon. Ours had the 15 inch "Grizzly" wheels. I have wanted to build a model of that Jeep but ours was a hardtop and the body sides are shaped differently. I might be able to overcome that but there would still be the removable hard top to do. I really enjoyed looking at your build and think it is really well done.
Pierre_tec Posted April 20, 2020 Posted April 20, 2020 (edited) That color makes a difference!! One thing i really dislike about it are the wheels that really seems undersize, nothing that cant be solve. i solve it using the Jeep snaptite tires, seem much suitable for a Jeep. btw, that kit seems more like a snaptite than a level 4 ? gman Posted April 21, 2020 Posted April 21, 2020 I like your build, and think the later model Anvil color looks great on it. Nicely done. Those look like wheels from a newer Jeep JK, many of which have found their way onto 1:1 TJ builds in the real world with adaptors. If that is what they are, the tires look like they would scale out to be about 33" or 34" or so. Again, a realistic choice for a trail rig that sees some time on the street and wasn't built primarily for rock crawling.
gman Posted April 21, 2020 Posted April 21, 2020 ...or more than likely, these: ^^ 16" and a good fit for a relatively stock looking build
Mattilacken Posted August 29, 2020 Posted August 29, 2020 Verry nice build! Love these and want to build both this and the JK
