bondo bill Posted April 20, 2020 Posted April 20, 2020 Revell box stock build. Special four color, two way fade paint job. Homemade decals using Testors decal paper and spray. Comments welcome!
cobraman Posted April 20, 2020 Posted April 20, 2020 One of the nicest I have seen of that kit built.
Tom Geiger Posted April 20, 2020 Posted April 20, 2020 Very nice! A lot of folks are scared of that kit. Can you describe shortcomings / challenges and how you got past them?

Main issues are fit problems but it's an old kit, had trouble mounting dash, windshield, chassis a little warp, it has doors that can be opened but I didn't want to mess with that. The wheels I used were from an earlier sedan kit. Really not that bad the engine doesn't have much detail
Modelbuilder Mark Posted May 5, 2020 Posted May 5, 2020 I built this sometime back in the 70s, and if my memory serve me correctly, this is the first kit that cut a door open on, as I believe the kit included hinges for the rear door, but it was molded shut. Yours looks really nice.

Thanks yes you can cut open all the doors, and the interior panels already have hinges attached-I didn't want to mess with that so I cut off the hinges and glued the interior panels to the doors
Bills72sj Posted May 5, 2020 Posted May 5, 2020 Very pretty color combo. This kit was my first fade in the 70's Silver base with transparent candy red in front and candy blue fade to the rear. I have a Monogram kit that I will get to someday.
