I like that concept drawing.....gives me ideas!

Dave Van Posted September 8, 2020 Posted September 8, 2020 Love it!!!! As a owner of a 74 coupe I have heard that slogan just a few times!!!! Mine is not the 'Boxy' Matador but the NASCAR coupe..... I'll stay OT now!!!!
Jantrix Posted September 8, 2020 Posted September 8, 2020 I've done the NASCAR chassis swap before. It works terrificly but it does make the exhaust system problematic.
yellowsportwagon Posted September 9, 2020 Author Posted September 9, 2020 Calling chassis fab done. Time for some putty primer and paint .
yellowsportwagon Posted September 9, 2020 Author Posted September 9, 2020 On the wheels it will have.
Limeyglue Posted September 9, 2020 Posted September 9, 2020 Nice build so far. Where are the wheels from?

speedy5963 Posted September 9, 2020 Posted September 9, 2020 Looking good, like that stance and chassis mod!
larman Posted September 9, 2020 Posted September 9, 2020 This is a really great project! Love the stance and your wheel choice! Everything is coming along very nicely!
AmericanMuscleFan Posted September 9, 2020 Posted September 9, 2020 I love the stance and the wheels are perfect for this project! I noticed your simulation of the OEM (The Machine) stripes on the trunk spoiler, are you planning to use them and paint the body white like the original car?

alan barton Posted September 10, 2020 Posted September 10, 2020 This is looking real good! I have a friend who is an AMC freak - it is a very special strain of our disease..... Cheers Alan
Koellefornia Kid Posted September 10, 2020 Posted September 10, 2020 I really like what you are doing here, Tim! Built a few AMCs myself (a Pacer and a Gremlin) and I still got a sealed AMX kit. The Nascar chassis is a nice trick, I need to get me some of these kits for some resin projects... ?

This is 2 chassis spliced together to get the wheelbase
yellowsportwagon Posted September 11, 2020 Author Posted September 11, 2020 Most of the Machine pictures I see show a black interior. I feel a blue interior is better.
yellowsportwagon Posted September 11, 2020 Author Posted September 11, 2020 Engine in to fit radiator.
gks1964 Posted September 11, 2020 Posted September 11, 2020 The blue interior looks super. What type of intake are you using?
Modelbuilder Mark Posted September 11, 2020 Posted September 11, 2020 I think this body style is perfect for a resto-mod, great choice. I like what /I see so far!
