kilrathy10 Posted October 5, 2020 Posted October 5, 2020 Man, that looks AWESOME!!! I love how you ran the side pipes through the body work... That looks too cool and flawless...

Everything in harmony, no one thing screaming for attention, as elegant as you could ever make a truck. Beautiful work, Roger, well worth whatever challenges you had to overcome. Cheers Alan Thanx Alan! It's always cool when someone gets what I was trying to accomplish. I think it proves that old and new school can actually compliment one another.

I mean this in the best possible way, but when I first read the description without having seen the photos I was expecting it to look much more obviously modified. The finished result is so clean and well thought-out, with a really subtle colour and wheel choice that enhances the super-clean look. Thanx Nigel! I get what you're saying. The Lightning moniker may have been a bit misleading. But, it's basically just a reskinned second generation Lightning.

Stance... killer, colour choice... perfect, kit bash execution... flawless. I would love to see a better photo of the seat if you have one, it looks outstanding too. Cheers, Steve Thanx Steve! Here's a couple of interior photos.
Plowboy Posted October 5, 2020 Author Posted October 5, 2020 As mentioned earlier, I made a set of Moon discs to fit these wheels and stuck 'em on with a couple of drops of Elmer's glue. I really like this look! So much so, that I may leave them on it. They totally change the look of it!

kilrathy10 Posted October 6, 2020 Posted October 6, 2020 Change the look of the truck, they do, indeed... Still looks great...
Rodent Posted October 6, 2020 Posted October 6, 2020 This is probably my favorite build on here for 2020. Looks great! I have a donor Lightning that I was planning on combining with the AMT F-350 and a Model King repop of the Open Road camper. Figure it needed more power!
bogger44 Posted October 8, 2020 Posted October 8, 2020 Killer build Roger! Outstanding work on blending those kits together so beautifully. I have been a big fan of your builds for a long time, but this one might just be my new favorite.
AmericanMuscleFan Posted October 11, 2020 Posted October 11, 2020 Your hard work has paid off Roger, the pickup is clean and tastefully built, the kind of project that could have been done by The Gas Monkey Garage! Well done sir!!! ?
bobthehobbyguy Posted October 11, 2020 Posted October 11, 2020 Well done. Absolutely stunning. Those moon disks are perfect. Cool concept merging the best of old and new.
mchook Posted October 19, 2020 Posted October 19, 2020 Beautiful! I just got a Ford Lightning and plan on stealing this idea with my 61 f100. Great job!

As much as I like this model, it still doesn't compare to my '62 F-100.
Olskoolrodder Posted October 21, 2020 Posted October 21, 2020 I know lots of people have said "Wow!" before I got here, but WOW! ??? Amazing build, great stance, great details, just an awesome build!
dragcarz Posted October 21, 2020 Posted October 21, 2020 That came out very nice, I love the color combination, wheels and the stance is spot on! Very nice!
