Little by little I'm making progress on this build, Slow goin' so I feel like I need to celebrate the small victories to keep moving forward...  and in this case it's a simple mock up.

I'm chasing bodywork and still sorting out the floors. All while pondering color, theme, and other details ... Should I go with a wood floor in the back or metal floor bed. Thinking TS-81 Royal light grey for the interior. The plan is to dedicate the weekend to getting the rest of the fab work done.

I've been working on this thing every day on and off steadily. I really haven't got alot accomplished despite the amount of time I've been spending on it. This build has really stretched my boundaries... kinda dogging my soul honestly.

I have all the door hinges mounted. Now on to closing the door jambs and fabbing panels. I'm optimistic but reserved at this point... ?

Tomorrow will be 5 days left til the Deadline. I'll have to be putting it in the box Friday afternoon... So it's time to lay down some rubber and get it finished. I've been building the chassis and gettin the body smooth, I'm hopeful to get paint on it tomorrow.

Keep up the good work. I like your short WB version in the picture. I have been pondering a Phantom 1965 Chevy Blazer. A nice short WB like the 1970's ones, but from 1965.

You will have to let us know if you do that with the one pictured.

Thanks, that's what I did with the leftovers from the three kits I cut up.

Initially I had planned a Good Humor style ice cream truck but the most useful portion was the rear section and that would normally be replaced by a cooler anyway.

I did some brainstorming and came up with a mid engine "Short Bus" concept. I've been thinking of a rear engine, wheelie ridin drag machine and calling it the "Bumper Dragon". Nevertheless it will be built.  I'm not into wasting plastic. I like the "Blazer" idea... or maybe a 4 door suburban would be cool as well.

Here's a photo of the shorty... pardon the gaps and fitment. It's very early yet. Next!

Checking in on this build... here's a list of what's left to do...

1. Paint the Roof

2. Apply decals

3. Apply Clearcoat

4. Paint door panels

5. Clean up overspray inside

6. Mount the body and step boards

7. Mount doors

8.  Add all details and glass

Quite a list, so I better get moving if I plan to have it finished before Saturday!

The color choice was literally last second decision. I do regret it but... too late to turn back now! Here is a sample of the Color it's Chrome Yellow Pearl!

and I got the go cart built ✔️

Tomorrow the goal is to have it finished!  So here goes nothing or should it be said here goes everything?

Well it's probably no surprise but I didn't meet the deadline ? I was trying to finish the build for the MDA show but I started making small errors towards the end and I made the call to slow down and finish it without the pressure. I didn't want to compromise the build for the sake of having it done quickly. Here's where I stopped...

Now that doesn't mean I didn't still meet the deadline on the new Mobious 65 Chevy II Gasser that finally got released. I slammed it together as quickly as possible for a build reveil. In case anyone was interested in building the kit here it is...

I think you made the right decision regarding the deadline. I've rushed projects for a show deadline, only to regret the errors caused by rushing. Especially since I usually miss the deadline anyway, and have to rip the thing apart to do it right. The van is a cool concept, and coming along nicely.

Well, I'm not quiting on this project yet...I still have work to do. At the moment I'm wet sanding and polishing the body... here's a shot of it closer to a reveil... not sure if I'm keeping the wheels or if it needs custom wheels to fit the color now.

I kind of like the stock wheels. It gives it a vintage shop truck look. Like it belongs to the go kart shop.

Agreed!  I'd be tempted to repaint the steelies with the same green in your logo. It's a shop truck; show the shop colors!

That's what I was thinking when I first started the build. I wanted it to have a factory stock look. And then those voices in my head (basically gremlins) told me to paint it pearl yellow.?

I had contemplated stripping it and starting over and if the paint and bodywork wasn't so well done I would. (sorry for tooting my own horn).

It's not my vision and I really feel like I made the wrong choice. MOF I'm ready to start another one this time without the doors being opened.(another decision I regret). That was too much work for not enough reward. I'm just too easily influenced by the voices I guess.

I have so many of these trucks that I wouldn't have to repaint the black ones. I'll just get another set out and paint those lime green just to see how they look probably use chrome center hub caps on the next set.

However, the green 65 stepside comes with steel wheels in chrome and I thought they were just custom enough. Either way, I'm gonna get it done so I can move on to the next build.

Sorry for the rants but thanks for looking and encouraging me.
