BeakDoc Posted November 29, 2020 Posted November 29, 2020 I’ll be tuned in to this one, Lee. No doubt this thread will be a vital part of my own build research. Certainly looking good thus far!
Classicgas Posted November 29, 2020 Author Posted November 29, 2020 (edited) Thanks. I'm not adding a lot of detail, but to me I've got to add a little or it just looks bare. I've got a number of engine and chassis pics. . Be forewarned if you build this kit do not glue thee rear pan to the body, it will make chassis/ interior assembly to the body nearly if not completely impossible Edited November 29, 2020 by Classicgas
Dann Tier Posted December 6, 2020 Posted December 6, 2020 Love these cars!!, and its great to see someone FINALLY building one -Looking GREAT!!!!
Classicgas Posted December 21, 2020 Author Posted December 21, 2020 A little progress. Basic interior paint.
Modlbldr Posted December 22, 2020 Posted December 22, 2020 Nice color on the interior Lee. Can't wait to see this one finished. What a beautiful car! Later-
Classicgas Posted December 23, 2020 Author Posted December 23, 2020 Thanks. Yeah the AH is. Worthy of a new tool but I doubt it'll happen. Really, this old workhorse isn't really that bad a kit.
PhilX Posted December 24, 2020 Posted December 24, 2020 Nice model. I started one of these. The white piping on the seats is difficult to paint.
c-plane362 Posted December 24, 2020 Posted December 24, 2020 Here is my dad working in the pits for Briggs Cunningham also in the Sebring race was a young guy from Texas Carroll Shelby I have always loved the Austin Healey and have a few of the kits in my stash
Classicgas Posted December 24, 2020 Author Posted December 24, 2020 Great pics! I have a couple of ideas for the seat piping. We'll see.
Anglia105E Posted December 24, 2020 Posted December 24, 2020 You are doing a great job on this Austin Healey, Lee....... and this is an old Revell kit that I would like to get hold of, especially now that I have seen your topic ! David
TransAmMike Posted January 23, 2021 Posted January 23, 2021 Looking good Lee, I never thought much of the British sports cars back in my younger days but those 3000's did have an appeal to me.
robertw Posted January 23, 2021 Posted January 23, 2021 Beautiful colour and looks great on this car. Who would think that the ancient multi body part Revell kit could look this good. The truth is it's a very nice little kit with only a little bit of extra work required.
Classicgas Posted January 23, 2021 Author Posted January 23, 2021 (edited) Thanks. Yeah its really not a bad kit. I'm not happy with the seats. I'm going to repaint and use some seat pattern decals I have. Edited January 24, 2021 by Classicgas

Classicgas Posted January 25, 2021 Author Posted January 25, 2021 Not a bad idea, but I think it would work better in a situation where piping isn't already engraved.
Justin Porter Posted January 25, 2021 Posted January 25, 2021 Happy to see more getting done on this one. For the piping, have you considered using something like Vallejo Liquid Mask or Humbol Maskol?

Classicgas Posted January 26, 2021 Author Posted January 26, 2021 Rolling chassis and interior finished.
slusher Posted January 27, 2021 Posted January 27, 2021 Really fantastic work Lee on your engine detail and interior. You do great on your models...
