Claude Thibodeau Posted January 19, 2021 Posted January 19, 2021 Hi! The big 68 Charger is seen once in a while in Pro-Touring guise, so, to make it more unique, why not move an SRT late Hemi in the back, throw in IRS and twin turbos, scissor dors, an opening roof/hatch? Based on Revell's 68 R/T, with 06 Dodge Magnum Hemi, and AMT's Jag XK 220 transaxle, IRS, floor pan, and a host of scratchbuilt systems, hinges, cabin, etc. (too many to mention).Finished in Tamya's Silver leaf (VERY hard to shoot to my satisfaction...) with TS-13 clear, fully polished. Rolling stock from my parts box (Corvette?). Hours of fun with styrene! Enjoy. CT
cobraman Posted January 19, 2021 Posted January 19, 2021 Wow ! That is wild ! Very creative and well done. Very cool !
espo Posted January 19, 2021 Posted January 19, 2021 Outstanding design and the mechanicals all look very realistic. I don't recall the proper term for the under body in the rear but I think of it as a tunnel and that is also well done.

I know those are part of the "ground effect" they use on F1 cars, but neither do I know the exact term for it. But at least, this Chrager will put it to good use, I hope... CT

Yes, they are called "tunnels", although F1 cars these days are only allowed to use rear diffusers. https://www.symscape.com/blog/secrets_of_diffusers https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ground_effect_(cars) Great work, Claude!
Lowlife ! ! Posted January 20, 2021 Posted January 20, 2021 Wow I'm Loving this build Claude ! The roof design is genius, and the rear end treatment really suits the build. I'm also impressed the way you built the floor, and diffusers ! Wild Charger, wish I'd built this one myself !
Erik Smith Posted January 20, 2021 Posted January 20, 2021 Nice simple model, Claude. Beautiful execution.
TransAmMike Posted January 20, 2021 Posted January 20, 2021 Outstanding Claude, beautiful and innovative??. I would like to say tho, not too sure I'd want to drive it in "anger" (LOL) with the fuel cell in front.
Dragonhawk1066 Posted January 20, 2021 Posted January 20, 2021 Wow! Outstanding concept and execution!

Thank you Martin! The front section of the floor, the Charger part, needed much surgery to "flow" with the theme. I'm happy with the final look of it. CT

Bucky Posted January 20, 2021 Posted January 20, 2021 Fantastic Charger! Well thought out. Of all the great mods you performed, I have to say my favorite is the engine compartment hatch. Very impressive!!
89AKurt Posted January 20, 2021 Posted January 20, 2021 Impressed with the concept, and execution. I know you spent a few hours. The door operates like the Koenigsegg?
Spottedlaurel Posted January 20, 2021 Posted January 20, 2021 Always a pleasure to see one of your builds "Under Glass", this one's amazing! Some very inventive thinking, very well executed.

Actually, i agonized a long time over the best location for the cut lines, because the roof of the 68 Charger is so nice... I left the B-pillar as a whole, 'cause any cut-line trough it would have looked weird, viewed from the side in particular... CT
