espo Posted January 6, 2022 Posted January 6, 2022 The Iron Lady and the other '32 Vicky kits were of the Victoria body style. The AMT T133 kit and all of the reissues were of what Ford called the Tudoor body style. The main difference has to do with the way the rear of the body is shaped. That said they both are great looking body styles for the '32 and deserve our building attention.
gray07 Posted January 6, 2022 Posted January 6, 2022 yes thats it, i love that kit built it many times.
keyser Posted January 6, 2022 Posted January 6, 2022 They never reissued the T133 Tudor iirc since that issue, which was only stock/fendered issue. Only other issue was the custom in Willys/custom Tudor double kit. They found the 25?/27 T Roadster issued once about the same time in Street Rods series, so hope springs eternal they may have that tool. It's same as the Vic/Phaeton other than body and interior. Had 5 hole Ansen-ish wheels that Phaeton had. A woody/B400/Tudor with corrected lower body would sell, I'd think. With Monograms I'd guess. no.
alan barton Posted January 13, 2022 Posted January 13, 2022 (edited) Hi Casey, here are my three versions. They have been on here before but may be of interest to people who want to know more about this kit. All are essentially box stock bodies except that I have removed the "fabric" insert on the jalopy and the showcar. If you want to build a stock bodied Tudor, the phaeton is the best donor kit as it ahs the correct length interior tub. The Vicky tub is noticeably shorter. I also find that the AMT "factory section" is not as visible on full fendered cars with dark paint! Cheers Alan Edited January 13, 2022 by alan barton wrong photo 6
Mark Posted June 1, 2022 Posted June 1, 2022 The version that imitates the Revell Orange Crate, or the one that mimics the Monogram Li'l Coffin?

Mark Posted June 1, 2022 Posted June 1, 2022 Other than the body and glass, none of the parts from the custom sedan ever surfaced again after the double kit issues. Once the Willys was changed to include the pickup version, that was it. Some of the Gasser series (cartoon box art) Willys kits include the Ford, others include only the Willys but with the pickup version. The box art shows only the Willys coupe, nothing else is shown or mentioned. 1

Doesn't really matter. First time I'd seen that instruction sheet. Just curious to see how close one could get mining the parts packs. Edited June 2, 2022 by mk11

I realize the pickup cab, interior, and bed parts take up some real estate, but that still doesn't equal a full kit. That could even be where the missing body is...
stavanzer Posted June 15, 2022 Posted June 15, 2022 Boy, I hope to see you proven correct someday, Dave. I'd really like to see that kit come back.
dodgefever Posted June 15, 2022 Posted June 15, 2022 I have an unbuilt double kit, but can't remember how much is left on the sprues. I'll dig it out later. If someone has a current Willys reissue to compare, it would be interesting to see what the pickup parts replaced.
unclescott58 Posted June 16, 2022 Posted June 16, 2022 The ‘32 Custom from the double kit with the Willys, shown and talked about above, is still the one I want.

And 3 years later, T-133 Tudor Sedan is announced as a new kit. Might even see it in time for Christmas! With Pad Printed Tires, Expanded Decals and Vintage Box art, this will be killer! 2
Ragtop Man Posted Monday at 02:31 PM Posted Monday at 02:31 PM The build up the thread ^^^^^ is clearly channeling the Chili Coupe (Chili Sedan, anyone?) and really looks great, one of the first complete builds of that I've seen. I'd love to see a build that used the AMT " instructions " for the Custom Sedan, now that most of the parts save for wheels have been re-released; a proper scrap box would get you most of the rest. That has Tim Boyd written ALL over it! My hunch is that the 'radical rod' look of Lil' Coffin/Chili Coupe/etc. went off a cliff not long after the release, may have been cut completely out of the tool to do the pickup. Mag coverage of that type plummeted about '65-6, as the "vintage tin" stock with all the barbs and trim look became fashionable again. May be some crossover in the rationale with XR6, which also flared and disappeared in the same breath. Speculating, here, but it seems to me that if there were legacy parts in the tool, the 'knock out the gates' effort before the RC sale would have yielded some bits - see "Ala Kart" / "Mod Rod" - in the Willys. Still shaking boxes at the shows looking for a good one to build, and for sure I'm printing the AMT recipe cos all of those parts and more are taking up space in the boxes.
