Justin Porter Posted April 19, 2021 Posted April 19, 2021 Another project wrapped up. This is my Tamiya 1/24th scale Lotus Europa. This particular build had a hiatus due to a massive self-inflicted paint issue with the original Model Air Arctic Blue paint job. After getting stripped down, I reshot it in Gunze Mr Metallic Dark Blue under Wet Look Clear. I'm still not 100% happy with the paint job but the car as a whole makes me glad to have on the shelf.
mrmike Posted April 19, 2021 Posted April 19, 2021 Good job! I like it! I built one myself last year.
Bainford Posted April 19, 2021 Posted April 19, 2021 Nice build. Looks good in that colour with the Watanabe wheels. I have this same kit on the bench right now. A very nicely done kit.
peteski Posted April 20, 2021 Posted April 20, 2021 Nice model! Friend of mine owns the 1:1 Europa, and it is also metallic blue. The 1:1 car is really small!
Spottedlaurel Posted April 20, 2021 Posted April 20, 2021 Looks very good, a great companion to your Alpine A110.
Rich Chernosky Posted April 20, 2021 Posted April 20, 2021 Justin....that is a wonderful little kit and you have done a great job with it.
Tom Geiger Posted April 20, 2021 Posted April 20, 2021 Looks great! In blue it reminds me of my old Matchbox car!

I have the same car in my collection and it wasn't until a few days ago that it even occurred to me that I'd replicated it! The subconscious strikes again. lol
David G. Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 Unusual subject, nicely rendered and detailed. David G.
Dave Van Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 Very nice work. Usual Tamiya build or any bugs? I have one put back to build my brother in law's JPS version. He owned in back in the 1980's. FUN car until you find out there is no protection from side impact with that backbone frame set up!!

Closest thing there is to a "glitch" in the kit is that the alternator/drive pulley piece needs a little bit of sanding to sit properly in its bracket. Otherwise it's an absolute jewel to build.
doorsovdoon Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 I like the colour, very nice build though I've never been a fan of thee cars, they look like speedboats on wheels!
