This set up utilized the dual spark delco-remy distributor to take advantage of a dual coil ignition.   The Fisher crossflow head had only one plug per cylinder so they adapted the ignition by staggering the plug wires.  After researching the subject, this is my take on it.   Feel free to add information as I found it hard to find.

Great looking build. The front end on this kit can be a bear to get together. I like that you used the optional engine. The detailing of the underside looks very realistic right down to the leaky oil drain plug.

Great job on a unusual drag car subject. Your engine detailing is really… detailed! This build inspires me want to find a 50’s subject kit and parts for a 6 cylinder stocker drag car. Would love to see some more images of the 1:1 engine you posted.

Thanks for the comments.  It was a challenging project finding information and dealing with typical AMT fit issues (twisted frame, and filing half a pound of styrene off the firewall and inner front fenders to get the body to sit right)    I think it came out pretty good.

Excellent detail work, especially the custom engine. Your weathering is spot-on.

I built the convertible version a couple of years ago so I know exactly what you're saying about the front fender wells. They're the one thing that took up most of the time on that build. I painted mine almost the same shade of blue as you did yours.

Wow, the engine details are something else, great work. I love the look you got on the exhaust header, looks like they've been a little warm once or twice!
