What is the retail on the first issue of the truck?  If this is a truck and a trailer, I might be in...there's potential for some pretty wild decals for this thing...

$61.xx at Model Roundup. Sounds like a $10 premium for the decals.

Looks like I better get mine soon.  I don't want to pay extra for decals I'm just going to toss.

I'll pass. That's a gimmick I don't need. I like the truck though.

Man, Really miss those old days, when those styles of Designs, where printed on t-shirts! I really loved those old style drawings!

That iron-on brings back some great memories !  Isn't that a Roach  design ?

Roach, but probably done by Ed Newton.  Roth lost his studio in his first divorce, Newton moved on and linked up with Roach for a few more years.

Thanks for the new-to-me , additional info . I knew that there was a connection between Roth et al. , but I'd obviously forgotten about Newton ( I recall his signature on numerous iron-on and other artwork ) .

Roth's studio was definitely losing momentum prior to his having lost it.  Robert Williams' ads got him in hot water with Petersen Publishing.  There's supposedly a letter that Roth got from Petersen, listing all of the things deemed offensive, that couldn't be included in the ads...it's said to be pretty hilarious.

Diecast Models Wholesale has the 1966 Johnny Lightning hearse.  Regular version is $8.99 and the Rat Fink version is $12.99.
