yellowsportwagon Posted August 9, 2021 Posted August 9, 2021 Just the beginning stage of this mild custom curbside project. 1
bisc63 Posted August 9, 2021 Posted August 9, 2021 Interesting project. What is that roof from... Riviera?

yellowsportwagon Posted August 9, 2021 Author Posted August 9, 2021 Floating out the bodywork. Stupid thing had a groove around the bodyside molding I removed. Going to add rocker chrome to it instead of the bodyside molding.
Can-Con Posted August 9, 2021 Posted August 9, 2021 I started the same thing but with a JoHan '64. The '65 GP roof doesn't fit it as well as the one you're doing.

Bucky Posted August 9, 2021 Posted August 9, 2021 WOW!! Unexpected, but very cool! It already has that, "GM shudda done this" look to it.
yellowsportwagon Posted August 10, 2021 Author Posted August 10, 2021 (edited) Added new drip rail moldings and made some Eldorado style rocker moldings. Went with the 65 style chrome over the 66. I think the 65 style is cleaner looking. Edited August 10, 2021 by yellowsportwagon

No it’s one of those Hasagawa things with the crappy interior in it. It’s a 66. I wasn’t going to hack a Johan for this screwyness. I hope to at a minimum find a Johan 66 dashboard to stick in it.
espo Posted August 10, 2021 Posted August 10, 2021 The addition of the lower trim moldings really enhance the overall look of the lower body. Your roof conversion flows well also.

Al Rich (thatz4u) has some 66 hearse parts for trade - including a dash. Maybe you can work out a deal with him for it.

The Johan is a much better tool than this one. Comes with a much higher price tag too. If I was building a stock 66 I would have found a Johan. Thanks for the trade info.
wrenchr Posted August 11, 2021 Posted August 11, 2021 Tim I know i have a drop top johan caddy dash, if you want it let me know. I'm about to leave for work but can send a pic tomorrow. It was a glue bomb deal so no worries on ruining a johan kit.
