deuces wild Posted February 22, 2022 Posted February 22, 2022 I just noticed that myself.... It probably has rally wheels....

dbostream Posted February 25, 2022 Posted February 25, 2022 Wasn't planning on buying one but it will be difficult to say no to that box art.
bytownshaker Posted February 25, 2022 Posted February 25, 2022 I'll definitely get this kit just for the hood, as I want to do a model of my 67 Camaro and it had that hood on it. 2

It had the 68-69 "ice cube tray" inserts? Stock 67's had a different insert like the 69 Nova SS hood. I am not familiar with any Canadian differences in trim, so I ask. If Revell offers the hood so the inserts are separate, you could get the inserts from the Nova to be correct.

His car was obviously "day two" so he or someone might have added that hood later. 1
bytownshaker Posted February 25, 2022 Posted February 25, 2022 Car originally had the flat hood, a buddy wanted to put a hood scoop on his 69 SS so we traded hoods. Car was definatey more than a day 2 car as it had a 6 point cage, subframe connectors, 4500 stall torque converter and the engine was built. 3
iangilly Posted February 26, 2022 Posted February 26, 2022 Well I only have around 20 or so 69 camaro what's one more. Worth it just for the wheels. 1

mikemodeler Posted February 26, 2022 Posted February 26, 2022 15 69's in the stash, about 8 more built and at least 3 in the WIPs pile, what's a couple more? Lol I will get a couple of these. 1

All first gen F-bodies sold in Canada were built in The States so they came off the same assembly lines as those sold in the U.S. 1 1

stavanzer Posted March 1, 2022 Posted March 1, 2022 So, the COPO kit with a new hood, basically? I do like the Colour! 1

I'd assume... Think the copo version had a decal for the bowtie. I kinda wonder if the following could be a solution for separate scripts and trim, so that multiple versions are possible of just one body. 1972coronet Posted March 2, 2022 Posted March 2, 2022 It'd be nice if Revell were to issue more kits under the Nickey name -- this kit being one of them (some 'Day Two' parts such as a new intake/carburetor/air cleaner and not-Centerline-nor-contemporary custom wheels/tyres and !!!BAM!!!). IIRC, Revell had licence to use Baldwin-Motion advertising (though the 1970 Chevelle --old Monogram tooling but with updated interior and a Tarantula intake, plus the requisite signature Phase III striping scheme-- was the last one that I can remember). It'd be nice to be able to build an OOB replica of Joe Oldham's 1969 SS-427 triple-black 'advertisement car'! Likewise, a Dick Harrell tie-in could be created... heck, even a Dana tie-in (I don't believe that anyone has that copyrighted -- Dana has been out of business for decades).

Rob Hall Posted March 3, 2022 Posted March 3, 2022 Would be nice if Revell would make a '68 SS 396...would go well w/ their '67 and '69 kits. 2
stavanzer Posted March 3, 2022 Posted March 3, 2022 What colour Green is this car? I really dig the box art Green , and the two Real Car are cool too. 1
