IMG_1792.jpg.ab60054680f07f631b640db0d1890c89.jpgI'm calling this one finished (sans battery). I tried to get photos in natural light (from inside my back door- ? it's cold today) in order to show off the Boyd's Orange Pearl paint. My photos are as good as they ever get ?. Sorry. The paint job was botched twice. Once on the front left fender which I managed to fix and the other one is the right door; that was sorta fixed but the shade is off so I'm not showing that! The main thing is the chop and how I was able to work the C pillar. The rest is pretty average but I got what I wanted out of it. I figured if I could chop this one successfully I would attempt a fastback '47 Chevy. Thanks for looking!IMG_1798.jpg.2b6300f5fffda6a46757ff0c8a3c13c0.jpgIMG_1805.jpg.003ef7480f2538c649385f87aca46cd4.jpgIMG_1802.jpg.5c78e7e2393bc518df58bc5e4d9bca92.jpgIMG_1809.jpg.65501e490ffa4d386c1fbedd467324c3.jpgIMG_1800.jpg.d210d10625b0e6e819430ced7d15b3fa.jpgIMG_1797.jpg.7b4b2f204e78b5ac9ce83b1961269225.jpg

So cool! I love the simplicity of the style here; it's all about the chop. Great color, steelies and dog dishes on solid blackwalls, touches of chrome... it's perfect!

Thank you all! And Rusty is right. It was all about the chop for me. Stretching my limits on this sort of modification. I tried sectioning on a couple of kits too. The sections worked OK but the other stuff, not so much. ?. You will not see them. ?

Nice! The chop looks like it was done by a pro!?

NICE!

Thanks, gents. My chopping on this body is due to watching youtube videos of 1:1 chops. It works for them, so I did it very much like it's done on a 1:1. I'm pretty sure there's not much that can't be done with styrene, super glue, and Bondo ☺️ below is the inspiration for this build.

Great looking chopped top. I like the color and the paint finish. I'm a big fan of the five spoke wheels like the 1:1 but the painted steel wheels you used gives this a tougher look.

Nice chop and grille treatment! Boyd´s orange pearl looks good on it!

Thanks for your comments!  My chop differs from the 1:1 shown here by virtue of the front to back angle.  It just came out that way with a lower chop at the A post. I must be sure to keep this in mind when chopping a sloping roofline. On the 1:1 it looks lower in the rear and I think that looks better. The quarter window is smaller and I like it that way.

That's funny I was just thinking how I liked your chop better than the one to one!  The bodywork on yours is exceptional.  But what really impresses me is the scale fidelity of your custom grille - I cant begin to imagine how you achieved that.  I attempted a 38 Ford grille a few years ago and it looked liked it was assembled by an epileptic wearing boxing gloves!  Much respect there, sir!

Cheers

Well thanks, Alan....it wasn't terribly difficult regardless of the do-overs. I didn't think to photograph it,  it was hard enough without that getting in the way. I was lucky to survive it ? I'm still picking CA off my fingers.
