Hard_2_Handle_454 Posted June 4, 2022 Posted June 4, 2022 Had this in the stash awhile. Finally, got around to building it. Not a bad kit. Pillars got a little warped though. SAM_0925 by Eric Lucas, on Flickr SAM_0926 by Eric Lucas, on Flickr SAM_0927 by Eric Lucas, on Flickr 6
Oldcarfan27 Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 That looks cool. I'd love to build an American spec model of that! Is that an Aoshima kit?
espo Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 Great looking paint work and cleanly detailed trim. With the mirrors and driver's position this looks like a home market car. When I first saw one of these 1:1 cars around 1974 I first thought it was a Mustang.
spencer1984 Posted June 6, 2022 Posted June 6, 2022 Looks great! I heard a rumor a while back that importing and facelifting these was considered as an alternative to what eventually became the Mustang II. With that rear overhead shot, you can certainly see some inspiration for the idea.

happy grumpy Posted June 6, 2022 Posted June 6, 2022 Nice looking Toyota, well put together and like Espo said, it kinda looks like a mustang.
TooOld Posted June 10, 2022 Posted June 10, 2022 Always liked these cars and yours is a very sharp looking build Eric , well done ! I bought a couple of these models when I was on Okinawa in '75 , wish I still had them .
beeRS Posted June 14, 2022 Posted June 14, 2022 Great looking model. Some of those pics can pass as a 1:1 car!
89AKurt Posted June 18, 2022 Posted June 18, 2022 I built this kit but with a major modification. The body is well rendered, the interior is adequate considering it's from the motorized era. Bummer about the A-pillars, but the important thing is you finished it! Looks good. I always thought it looked like a proper Mustang too.
papajohn97 Posted June 18, 2022 Posted June 18, 2022 Beautiful job on the paint and detailing on the bright work trim and front and rear ends. I had a full size one of these in ‘76, the first new car for me after driving $300 beaters thru college, mine was the metallic green with tan interior, the performance was mediocre (like most 70’s cars) but the build quality and reliability was rock solid. It was the first car I could take stress-free road trips in. Also my first car with an FM radio and a 5 spd stick. I still love the downsized Mustang styling of these.
