Ok fellows, I got the paint test completed this morning with success.  I really like how the Tamiya Clear Orange over the Tamiya Bronze came out.  That's the color the 40 Coupe will be.  I'm hoping I can get it painted tomorrow.

Looks cool there my Friend. I likes it?

Thanks Buddy.  I hope it comes out looking as good on the body as it does on the spoon.

Looking good. Always enjoyed working with Tamiya paint. There are some amazing results that can be achieved with their product. Looks like this is going to be one hot Forty.

Ok fellows.....the temp was 82° and the humidity was at 58% so it was time to airbrush the top coat on.  I sprayed a couple extra coats on looking for a deeper color and I think I got what I was looking for.  At this point, I'm not sure if it's going to need a clear coat or not.  Maybe just a good polishing will do the trick.

Great looking paint. I actually like the color on all the spoons.

Thanks Ray.  Yup....I'm actually looking at one of the other colors for my 37 Ford pickup build.

That looks great and what a beautiful color. From what I can see I'd probably go with rubbing down the paint as is without clear coat. Very sharp Bob!

Cheers,

Wolf

Thanks Wolf.  Yeah, that's what I did with the 30 Ford Coupe I build and it looked really nice.

The paint and color look fantastic Bob! Smooth and shiny.

I'm curious, how did you get the business with the fit of the hood sorted out?

Thanks Dave.  I bent the hood down the center line.  The area where the cutout is for the bug catcher gave a little and that seem to be enough.  So now I just pinch the hood a little and it snaps right on.  It did before paint so we'll see.

There's nothing like an easy fix to brighten up your day Bob. :)

Well....it seemed easy.  We'll see once the paint cures out and I can do a dry fit.
