yellowsportwagon Posted June 19, 2022 Posted June 19, 2022 So I got this thing cheap on the Bay. When it arrived I noticed the drivers side was warped in above the rear axles. So I figured it’s kinda flexible so maybe a floor would fix the problem. so I made a rudimentary floor . Getting this apart without destroying it was a two day project in itself. The floor did help get it mostly straight. So now I think well Maybe it would be cool with seat in there. Anyways here we go!! Gerald Smith printed me a ton of seats for it.
yellowsportwagon Posted June 19, 2022 Author Posted June 19, 2022 (edited) I glued some square stock to the bus sides so the floor will ride in it like a channel. It makes it easy to take in and out and I think it will allow for expansion and contraction which I believe made the sides warp. The metal chassis was crimped tight to the body. I added some ribbed sheet to look like rubber matting far the walkway and tossed some seats at it for test purposes. Edited June 19, 2022 by yellowsportwagon
yellowsportwagon Posted June 19, 2022 Author Posted June 19, 2022 So here’s the seats and some paint thrown on the floor. The file for the seats didn’t make good legs so I made my own.Nice thing is this bus never went past a prototype drawing so I’m just building it as I envision it could have been. The white box in the last picture is the start of a room for the BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH basket .
yellowsportwagon Posted June 19, 2022 Author Posted June 19, 2022 Scratchbuilding a dash next. The more stuff I make the more I realize I still need to do. What started out as a simple idea had blossomed significantly. But it’s starting to look cool 1
leafsprings Posted June 19, 2022 Posted June 19, 2022 (edited) Nice work, the interior looks great. Any plans for some more realistic wheels? Edited June 19, 2022 by leafsprings

Oh yeah the outside will be restored and some nice wheels and tires will be installed. It will be silver, red a yellowish tan and white when done.
yellowsportwagon Posted June 19, 2022 Author Posted June 19, 2022 Here’s the prototype drawing that was never actually built.
Dave Van Posted June 19, 2022 Posted June 19, 2022 Wow....a dream project.. I have wanted to build a MC9 bus for years.
yellowsportwagon Posted June 19, 2022 Author Posted June 19, 2022 There was two versions of this thing made . The cheap one like mine and a better one that had opening cargo and engine doors and a rolling destination sign up frt. This version was painted nicer too.
Mopar - D Posted June 20, 2022 Posted June 20, 2022 Cool project Tim looking forward to seeing more details on the bus.
yellowsportwagon Posted June 20, 2022 Author Posted June 20, 2022 Did some more work on the dash/drivers area.
Rockford Posted June 20, 2022 Posted June 20, 2022 Project creep at its finest but what a great job you're doing with it. I've never seen one of those before.

Repstock Posted June 20, 2022 Posted June 20, 2022 I want to thank yellowsportwagon for two reasons: What you've got there is very, very cool. I'm enjoying watching the progress. It has inspired me to get back to work on the GMC Fishbowl master.

Warren D Posted June 20, 2022 Posted June 20, 2022 Interesting project, I've thought about doing something similar to other bus models. I'd love to get a 1/25 scale Eagle Model 05 coach......
Dutzie Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 Your build is going to look awesome! Excellent work so far!
yellowsportwagon Posted June 21, 2022 Author Posted June 21, 2022 (edited) Here’s the entire floor out of the bus. A few more things to add yet. Gerald is 3D printing me a sink and BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH basket for the restroom. A few more railings and dash details and it should be done enough for me.
