Tommy124 Posted September 12, 2022 Posted September 12, 2022 (edited) Hi there, I built the Fujimi curbside variant of this and decided to replicate the car of German 60's/ 70's soccer legend Günter Netzer. This is the image of the car, taken 1972 while he was among the "common people". https://www.imago-images.de/sp/0018300595 And this is how it turned out in scale: Edited September 16, 2022 by Tommy124 14
Kah puts Posted September 12, 2022 Posted September 12, 2022 Well that's the nicest one of these I've ever seen, bravo.
70 Sting Posted September 12, 2022 Posted September 12, 2022 That turned out beautifully… looks like a diecast.
happy grumpy Posted September 12, 2022 Posted September 12, 2022 I like what you did with it. spot on paint job and photography. Nice and realistic background.
bbowser Posted September 12, 2022 Posted September 12, 2022 Extremely well done! Nice to see one other than red. Thanks for sharing.
mustang1989 Posted September 13, 2022 Posted September 13, 2022 Beautiful work!! Great job getting the yellow paint on and getting it to look that good. WOW!!
1959scudetto Posted September 14, 2022 Posted September 14, 2022 Very nice model of one of the most beautiful sportscars ever - Giallo Fly (yellow) is the best choice for the Dino 246 - I painted mine in the same color in the 90's (EM kit).
beeRS Posted September 15, 2022 Posted September 15, 2022 That is simply gorgeous! I have the EM version of this kit waiting to be built and had always envisioned Fly Yellow for it. I can only hope it comes out as good as yours.
Tommy124 Posted September 16, 2022 Author Posted September 16, 2022 (edited) Many thanks guys, I apprecitiate your feedback. I must say I was rather happy not to build the EM version. Both versions of the kit make it necessary to glue the lower part of the front fascia to the body. According to the instructions, this should be done at the very end of the build, which means that all parts are painted already. A great opportunity to spoil things last-minute... ☹️ I decided to glue those parts together prior to the painting process which gave me the option to properly fill and sand the gap. However, in order to fit in the chassis later on, I had to cut around 1 inch off the front part (the trunk where the spare tyre is located in the EM kit). Not a problem for this curbside, but it would be different with the EM kit... Edited September 16, 2022 by Tommy124 1
Kit Basher Posted September 16, 2022 Posted September 16, 2022 Hey, you're only supposed to post model cars on here! Seriously, I scrolled thru several pictures waiting for a pic of the model, thinking I was seeing a 1:1. Beautifully done and great photography!
Zippi Posted September 16, 2022 Posted September 16, 2022 Really a nice clean looking build of the Dino 246GT. Very realalistic looking photos. Great job.

I did that more than 30 years ago (this is the result: Installation of the chassis was a bit tricky, but doable ( I followed the instructions with this one) 1
NYLIBUD Posted September 28, 2022 Posted September 28, 2022 (edited) Excellent job on that one of a kind Dino. And who said Ferraris didn’t look good in yellow?,lol. For sometime,i never really cared for the lines of the Dino. But now, they are one of my favorites, with of course having the F40 as my all time favorite Ferraris, with the Enzo coming next.
