Officially calling this done, my scratchbuilt Leach garbage packer..and the R model  Mack I only stretched the frame to accommodate the packer.

I fabricated the 25 yd packer body using a bunch of photos,  parts manual and scaled drawing my buddy Ryan shared. The body was built w evergreen materials, and nearly a bottle of Tamiya glue.

The colors are krylon light gray. JD green, and regal red. I weathered everything w oils and powdered pastels for a used truck. The company name draws from local history, the 13th US president Millard Fillmore was born in Locke NY, and supposedly had the 1st bathtub in the White House.

The garbage is handmade bags w yard waste, and slushie cups I made from clear straws and colored powder. The lids are googly eyes, and some plastic rod for straws.

Very well done, Jeff!  Love the trash touch!  Even a little wet on the bottom!  You know your detailing!

Thanks Charles I kept thinking it needed more of a  sloppy trash , but never found a combo that worked..settled on the slushie cups

Spectacular build! Truly impressive scratch building and detail. Great weathering. I’ve enjoyed watching it come together. Looks like it would stink up the room!

This is so awesome. This kind of scratch building is way out of my league. I can almost smell the garbage. The outside photos make it look so real. You may have built a garbage truck but your talent is  quite the opposite of garbage. Very well done Jeff.

thanks for sharing.

Fine, fine, fine. Love the trash, too.  :D

I've noticed over the years that paint on industrial and municipal equipment loses its factory-new gloss after a couple of years in service, and your finish and slight weathering is a perfect representation of a well-maintained truck that's not very old.

Thanks Mario ! this was a build I wanted to try for yrs and finally had inspiration to tackle it. Having a bunch of photos and scaled drawing of the tailgate helped

Looks Amazing! Very realistic! The grille really adds to the realism! Excellent weathering as always, but you outdid yourself with the trash!! Excellent work!!

Thanks Brian!  My last Mack didn't get the grill treatment, and it always bugged me. Tossing in the trash really made the build fun and offered a chance to try a couple new skills

Great looking build, Jeff.  I like the subtle weathering.

Thanks Brian ! It's always tough intentionally ruining a decent paint job, but keeping it mild helps

Thanks Bill ! Subtle but noticeable was effect I was after. Really funny when I posted this on a fb group, and a member commented that the colors were similar to their companies fleet..turns out it was my reference photo in real time. Guy chatted about the trucks history

Great work.  As others have said, the trash is particularly well done.  I worked briefly at a Mack dealer, and we had waste trucks in for service often.  The mechanics hated working on them because they smelled so, so bad. ?

Jeff you did some awesome trashy work on this one! What’s next on your bench?

Thanks trashing a build was fun !

The bench is currently being used as a drydock. I'm working on a 1/350 ship I've always wanted to try. Here's a peek20221108_165934.thumb.jpg.2a4c137706f805916435703a11c254e3.jpg

After this ship heads to sea trials, a very special build is planned. My late father in law drove school buses for a living, and im doing a replica of his bus using an IH 3800 dog nose hood from plaskit

Lots of tiny details on your ship Jeff. Did the PE pieces come in the kit or are they aftermarket?  What year IH bus are you going to build. I might of rode on one like it lol.
