cobraman Posted December 2, 2022 Posted December 2, 2022 Resin body and interior . Had several issues building this thing . Some were of my own making I’m sure . Even though the body and interior were taken from the AMT kit there were still fit issues . I messed up the windows that I cut from sheet plastic . Painted with Tamiya Pearl Green . I used Duplicolor clear but I was out of the 1k I prefer to use but was out . Painted the roof black to break it up . Not my best work or maybe it is but I don’t want to believe that . Better luck with my next kit . I think I will pass on resin kits and or bodies going forward . Still it looks pretty good in the cabinet . Thanks for looking . 1
Koellefornia Kid Posted December 3, 2022 Posted December 3, 2022 Very nice little wagon! Love the concept!
70 Sting Posted December 3, 2022 Posted December 3, 2022 Cool looking body. Body/wheel colour combos work well together. Was the resin difficult to work with due to its more brittle nature?
TooOld Posted December 3, 2022 Posted December 3, 2022 Looks pretty nice to me , that's actually one of the better resin wagon conversions I've seen for the Cobra ! The black breaks it up and makes a big difference , well done Ray ! Resin bodies are always hit or miss even from the same company , you never know what you'll get .
1959scudetto Posted December 3, 2022 Posted December 3, 2022 Interesting conversion, Ray - that's what our British friends would call "Shooting Brake" (cross-over cars combining sportscar and Station wagon like David Brown's personal DB5 or the Jaguar E from the movie "Harold and Maude")
redscampi Posted December 3, 2022 Posted December 3, 2022 This reminds me of the old Corvette "wagon" conversions in the 70s.
cobraman Posted December 3, 2022 Author Posted December 3, 2022 Thank you all very much ! Harry, it wasn't the resin being brittle that was a problem but rather I found the body too thick in areas for the interior to fit well which then made the chassis not fit well. Dremel work solved the problems. t
rickcaps55 Posted December 3, 2022 Posted December 3, 2022 Sweet great build I love it the color is perfect for it to nice.!!
Gramps46 Posted December 3, 2022 Posted December 3, 2022 I like the color. It is very close to Ford of England Linden Green which Ford Advanced Vehicles (FAV) used on some of their GT40s.
happy grumpy Posted December 4, 2022 Posted December 4, 2022 Another beautyfull cobra albeit a rare sight. I love the idea. Cool color too.
