Looks pretty impressive, but it seems to have the same limitations as current products... doesn't take clear coat, doesn't like to be handled, etc. It looks like it might be less finicky to use than Molotow or (especially) Alclad as well as being useful for modelers who want to "rechrome" parts and don't have access to an airbrush for applying the other chrome finishes. Thanks for posting this up!

It has the advantage of being rattle canned for those who don't use aa airbrush and still seems to have the same finish as Aclad,, maybe better.

Hoping to find this in LHS here soon.

I use a chrome spray from Duplicolor, which I've been happy with, but this looks like it lays down a little smoother.

My understanding of the review is that the handling properties are better than Molotow. Sounds like he had to rub it pretty hard to diminish the shine. And I wonder if it would be even better if it sat in the dehydrator overnight.

I'm going to see if my LHS can get some and give it a whirl.

I asked my LHS owner if he could get this Spray Chrome last week. He carries other Revell paint products. He looked it up and said it's not showing up on any of his supplier's websites yet. He did say there were a couple other people asking about it besides me, so it seems to be drawing some interest!

Same here. No listings from his supplier.

Wait...$35US for a 150mL spray can?!

that's a little over 5 ounces

About 5.3.

A 3.5 oz. (100 mL) can of SpazStix I have here was $13 a few years back, so the price for the new Revell stuff doesn't seem too out of line to me...

I'm thinking very careful pre-fitting of bumpers or whatever you want to use this stuff on (make sure wheels push easily into tires, etc.), then spray 'em, let 'em dry a couple days, and assemble with gloves on to prevent fingerprinting...something like the light cotton ones that come with higher-end diecasts, or possibly latex or vinyl.

Thinking about it...

It seems expensive, but then I look at what I just paid for a couple of Molotow Chrome pens. ?

Going price for Chrome finish, I guess.

And a can should last quite a while, as it's only painting wheels, trim, bumpers, etc. It's not like I'd be doing an entire body or anything.

The price is probably high since it will have to be imported and shipping is still ridiculous for anything. I wonder how it would work as a base for hok pearls, i think brandywine would be pretty amazing over chrome

hello I just bought this product { revell chrome },  it is very similar to molotov , only that it is in a spray, it covers very well, the downside is the small capacity of the can

could you post a pic of your results please? I'm sure it would help many of us decide if we want it or not

I dunno, clear coats seem to completely flatten out the finish based off of the results in the original post. I'm betting anything applied over it would kill the reflectivity. Something like Vallejo Metal Color Chrome would probably work better... it doesn't quite have the shine of these products but it can be coated and not lose its shine.

I've been using duplicolour ral code silvers and golds under the lighter colours and they work pretty good for them but the brandywine just doesn't pop like it should. I'll try and find some of the vallejo to try. thanks
