MarkJ Posted February 19, 2023 Posted February 19, 2023 Wow, Pierre. I'm not seeing bumpy from where I'm sitting. Just another astounding paint job and decal work.
David G. Posted February 19, 2023 Posted February 19, 2023 I love all the mods you've made for this build! Truly impressive! David G.
Belugawrx Posted February 20, 2023 Posted February 20, 2023 Looking good Pierre..don't see much wrong with the decalling... Keep it going?
Pierre Rivard Posted February 20, 2023 Author Posted February 20, 2023 Thanks fellows. Apart from the nose decal issue I am very happy. Moving on to interior fabrication.
Smilesperhour Posted February 21, 2023 Posted February 21, 2023 Like the others I see no bumps, it's looking great
Pierre Rivard Posted February 22, 2023 Author Posted February 22, 2023 Thanks guys. Today's update. More coming tomorrow...snow storm! 3
cobraman Posted February 23, 2023 Posted February 23, 2023 Engine looks fantastic and I love the paint color.
David G. Posted February 23, 2023 Posted February 23, 2023 Nice work on the spare hold-down straps. David G.
Pierre Rivard Posted February 23, 2023 Author Posted February 23, 2023 Dashboard made. A nice touch from Revell to include 2 of them for LHD or RHD. I added bezels from wrapped wire and micro crystal clear for glass. 1
Pierre Rivard Posted February 23, 2023 Author Posted February 23, 2023 The rest of the parts and finished interior. Roll bar fabricated from 1.6mm Evergreen. Added driver seat belt. 2
MarkJ Posted February 23, 2023 Posted February 23, 2023 Fabulous work on the interior. Dash looks so real. Looks like you're pretty close to wrapping this baby up.
Smilesperhour Posted February 24, 2023 Posted February 24, 2023 Interior is beautiful, the dials and the spare wheel straps are very nice. I like the fact seats slightly different colour to
Pierre Rivard Posted February 24, 2023 Author Posted February 24, 2023 Thanks fellows. Yes getting closer to the finish line. Integrating the chassis into the heavily curved lower body worries me a bit...
Pierre Rivard Posted February 24, 2023 Author Posted February 24, 2023 Boys and girls, today's infomercial is about Pacer Canopy Glue. It was suggested by Matt Bacon and that stuff is great for gluing clear and chromed parts. Easy to apply, good adhesion and dries clear. I feel like an influencer...without the $$$ pouring in. Matt, let's start a YouTube channel! 3
David G. Posted February 25, 2023 Posted February 25, 2023 Beautiful work on the interior! I use Zapp Canopy Glue for my clear and chromies... only because it's what my LHC carries. David G.
Pierre Rivard Posted February 26, 2023 Author Posted February 26, 2023 The moment I feared came...time to slide the chassis & interior into that body with the massive downward curve. More complicated because I had previously integrated the rear chassis pan to the body... so spread the lower body, slide the chassis back into it at 45 degrees, then rotate the front chassis into position, without breaking or scratching anything. I had decided not to glue the windshield beforehand for fear of breaking it when spreading the body and thankfully the only damaged area from this delicate operation was top of dash. I can fix that before gluing the windshield.
SpikeSchumacher Posted February 26, 2023 Posted February 26, 2023 Well done Pierre! I was wondering how that part of the assembly would go. Guess it could have been worse... ?
MarkJ Posted February 26, 2023 Posted February 26, 2023 That does look like it would be almost impossible to get that chassis to body on this model, but you did a fabulous job as always and the beauty of brush painting is that you will be able to fix the dash with nobody the wiser. I'm really looking forward to the major unveiling of this awesome build.
Belugawrx Posted February 26, 2023 Posted February 26, 2023 That's not too bad I was worried as well re; the body fitment, a little 1000g dry sand on the dash and brush another coat on I guess. Engine compartment looking good ! Cheers
curt raitz Posted February 26, 2023 Posted February 26, 2023 Excellent work Pierre, Fortunately I stumbled on your thread before you finished the car. Your detail work is very inspiring. I have the Revell Jaguar D to build and will incorparate some of your technics in that build. Except I will be airbrushing the paint, I can't believe how smooth your brush paint method works...fantastic!
