I'm back on the 59 and decided to get some paint on the body yesterday.  Ran into a problem right off so I stopped.  I shut the paint booth down for cleaning and the body went into the purple pond.  I'm headed to the Hobby Shop to get a fresh bottle of paint so I can start over.  I have the body in the Dehydrator for a good drying before I spray it again.

Aarrrggghhhh! I hate it when that happens. Fingers crossed on the re-spray ?

Yeah.....I took the spray booth apart and gave it a good cleaning and put a new filter in.  Should be fine I hope.

I got the 59 Repainted and this morning I decided to wet sand it and get the Tamiya Clear Orange shot on the top and side spears.

Ha, thats a lotta masking?   Lookin' great Buddy!!

Thanks Buddy.  It is a lot of masking but it paid off.  I got no paint to bleed under the tape.  I'm a happy camper.

Thanks Tony.  This was the 59 I found online that inspired me.

I really like that colour combo Bob. Well played. Nice job on the masking, those types of mask jobs take me a while to do…. I think that‘s why I don’t do many two tone paint jobs ? Everything is coming along nicely.

Cheers, Steve

Thanks Steve.  I'm not a big fan of two tone either because of the masking but this one needed it.

Stunning colors. My favorite car ever, the 59 Chevy. I really like the Impala side trim on your "inspiration" picture.

Thanks Sam.  Yeah, that 59 that Chip Foose built is stunning.

I found a cheap trick to keeping my paint booth clean. My wife has a roll of Press-N-Seal that I borrow to line the inside of my paint booth since new. When the film gets dirty, I just replace it all. It lasts longer than my air filters do by about 4-5 filters per interior covering. I even put a layer of the stuff down on my spray booth bench to keep the inadvertent drips from ruining the table I use. It also prevents build up on the light fixture inside.

I can share pics if interested.
