Gramps46
The release of the German Revell XKE kits has me thinking of the '60s and the Revell 1/25 XKE kits. Looking back is this Revell Light Weight XKE modeled as it raced by Team Cunningham at Le Mans in 1963. 1959scudetto
Great racing Jaguar, Gary - did you scratchbuild the scoops on roof and trunk?

Pierre Rivard
That's a nice one Gary. XKE roadster + hard roof (if you can find one)+ some nice scratch building = Lightweight Jag. I love it.

I think the scoops came out of the parts box and were modified to fit. The hardtop was included in the original kit fortunately.

absmiami
One of my favorite Jaguars - shame that Revell did not include a hard top in its new release …. That would have been nice …. Well done
papajohn97
Very cool race car Gary, love all model subjects related to Briggs C. Hoping Revell releases a variation of their new-tool 1/24 of this car (or even better yet the lightweight coupe and a holy grail new-tooled Type D?). Also seems like the new 1/24 XKE kits are fertile ground for all kinds of AM resin parts?
Hoffman
Gary, your replica looks great!! Very authentic. So, you used a 1/25 Revell OTS + Lindbergh D-Type sourced Dunlop wheels and tires. I've decided to give it a go as well. I'm using the Heller 1/24 OTS + Jay's Resin Dunlop wheels and Tamiya Dunlop tires from the Morgan kit. I'll be adapting the Revell 1/25th hardtop to the Heller 1/24 body. I've ordered up the stripes and numbers from Le Mans Decals, going with the survivor of the bunch, #14. MarkJ
Great job, Gary. I did not realize how big the xke was in racing back in the day. You did an excellent job on this one.
