I have the Monogram/Revell kit, same box art!  Looks like a nice kit.

Here is an example of a rare, extinct brand kit.  But it's nothing to get excited about!  It's a horrid kit, and from the motorized era.  I found a diecast model, so that really shot down enthusiasm for building it. ?

Etzel’s Speed Classics multi media kit of the 1928 Stutz Blackhawk land speed racer. Gosh, it’s just the coolest thing ever.

Internet photos, BTW.

I have this exact same kit, except it's a Revell/Monogram kit. It has the same boxart, but it says R/M instead of Aurora.

I didn't know it was hard to find, but it looks like a nice kit.

I would trade it for the right kit.

Mine is probably one of these.  The top two are both sealed.  Bottom one in the rough box is still on the trees, but missing the piece that mounts inside the body.  I’m on the hunt for that part, because it’s definitely getting built!

I have four I consider particularly rare.

1. AMT '66 Barracuda, mint, new in box.

2. AMT Sonny & Cher Mustang, mint, new in box.

3. MPC '33 Chevy Panel Wagon, complete in original box but started (painted).

4. Mini-Exotics Mirage transkit for Ford GT Mark II.

My factory sealed JoHan 1969 Plymouth Road Runner.

Mine's not factory sealed. I built it in 1969 (one of my better efforts of the time) and it's about due for a good cleaning. I still have the cool old original box and all the unused custom parts, too. B)

Italeri Ferrari 275GTB. My LHS acquired a nice collection of vintage kits several years ago and they had this really rare kit priced at $39.00. I jumped on it, as well as a Fujimi Enthusiast Dino and Porsche 911 Turbo for about the same price.  Online pic below, I'm trapped under a napping cat on the couch and don't dare disturb him to take a picture of the one in my stash!

I'm a big fan of Nissan's, especially the one that redefined the Skyline (GT-R32 , Godzilla). I was looking for this eye-popping livery for a long time. Usually when you find one, it ships from Japan for a VERY high price. When it rains, it pours. I finally found one NIB on eBay. It was shipped surface, and after weeks, I had given up on ever getting it. Around that time, a friend said that he had one available. It was NIB with the exception that different wheels and tires had been substituted. So now I have two of the Tamiya kits, as well as a Hasegawa.

I don't know how rare they are, but I have a few kits that I guess are rare-ish.

AMT '75 Matador X

Tamiya Ferrari F40 Full Display - I have 2 of these

Revell Red Bull F1 RB8 Mark Webber

Fujimi Porsche Carrera Speedster Enthusiast Model

Revell City Liner

MPC Mustang Indy Pace Car

A few others there. I should really pay closer attention to the stash.

I suppose I could add a few of my rarest kits that I have yet to build.

Johan 1966 Plymouth Fury convertible

Johan 1967 Plymouth Fury hardtop

Johan 1967 Chrysler 300 hardtop

Johan 1964 Dodge Polara hardtop

Johan 1964 Plymouth Fury hardtop

Johan 1959 Oldsmobile 4 door flat top

AMT 1966 Plymouth Barracuda

MPC 1966 Dodge Monaco

MPC 1966 Pontiac Bonneville hardtop

Revell 1962 Dodge Lancer

This doesn’t include a bunch of Johan USA Oldies kits and several “less rare” AMT kits.

I thought of another kit(s). Rosso was a relatively short-lived kit maker. In that short life, they made some interesting kits; some Ferrari F-1 and some sports cars. If you are a fan of 1st gen Honda NSX, these 1/43 kits are well detailed and worth considering. They also made a good 1/24 Ferrari 512 TR.

These are pretty difficult to find. Had been looking for the 64 GTO 12-15 years before i finally got one last fall. The resin is a Tom Coolidge/Promolite 2000 item, a '59 Buick Electra 225 4dr HT and I doubt all that many were made.

I have two that I feel are 'RARE'.  One a production kit....the other not.

Accurate Miniatures NASCAR Ford Taurus kit.  The whole kit can be seen here https://public.fotki.com/DaveVan51/accurate-miniatures/

The kit was completed just as the NASCAR fad dies off.....and AM was having 'problems'.

LXG Nemo's car. Not sure how many made....but not many!!

Renwall Revivals Virgil Exner Bugatti is the one kit I have been seeking for a long while.

Even a badly built, bits missing one would be OK for restoration. Would like to build it and let the Bugatti Trust Museum here in the UK have it for permanent display.

I don't know how rare this Corvette is, but I never saw one before I bought one about a year ago. Mine is the 1969 model. 1/16.
