The Junkman
The Mustangs-first, last and always. But those Lincolns are very appealing. Could a manufacturer get away with suicide doors nowadays?

Besides Rolls Royce, Lincoln did briefly with a low volume version of the Continental a few years ago. webestang
San Jose, CA. factory.........Ford had to open a plant in CA to keep up with demand. BTW my old 81 Mustang I owned from 83-87 was built there. 8 hours ago, Earl Marischal said: Dearborn? steve
Rodent
They must have had a marshalling yard at the plant. Not all of those cars were built there. Mustangs on the train leaving for other regions and the other cars on the way to West Coast dealers?
espo
Great picture, but a posed publicity shot for sure with all the "suits" standing around.

My 81 was interesting as it was built at the San Jose plant but was not for sale in Calf. and had a slightly different exhaust for the 4 banger than the Mich. Mustang's. Rodent
The old San Jose (Milpitas) Ford plant is now a shopping mall. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Mall_of_the_Bay_Area

Chuck Most
Definitely not Dearborn. Continentals only came from Wixom.
Rodent
Google hits seem to suggest that it is the Rouge Complex. Now that I think of it, it can't be San Jose. The original assembly building is still standing and it looks nothing like that. It is a way spread out single level. It is most likely a staged publicity photo with the suits present, but if they had a marshalling yard there, cars from other plants would be present for distribution by truck.
