I made a 1:25 scale version with a marginal skillset years ago. I even made a 1:64 diecast from a Johnny Lightning. I now have correct 3D printed rims and another mint unbuilt to take another swing at the 1:25 version. I absolutely LOVE those wheels!! I’d love to find a few sets of them for some builds. Absolutely gorgeous car!!
StanGlover Posted November 9, 2023 Posted November 9, 2023 (edited) Here’s all of mine! There’s no model kit of a Hyundai Ioniq so I built this Pony in the same colors. I sold the Miata and Mustang but I still have the other two. Edited November 9, 2023 by StanGlover

I am glad you like them. The ones on the 1:1 are the only set in the world detailed as they are. They were born with gold anodized spokes but have been painted with the same paint used for the hood and trunk. The perimeter bolts have been all changed from black anodized allen bolts to polished stainless steel bolts. The washers under the bolts have all been painted from natural aluminum to gloss black. The hoops were polished after media blasting and the clear powder coated. The chrome center caps are from a black and silver version of the same style wheel. The Pontiac medallions were custom made for me from a guy in the Czech Republic. 2

baycolony Posted November 9, 2023 Posted November 9, 2023 (edited) Here is my 2013 GT500 Shelby: And here is my replica: Revell 2010 Gt500 with Plamoz 2013 transkit, modified hood, scratchbuilt side window scoops, factory matched paint, and staggered 3d printed wheels. Deathgoblin Posted November 10, 2023 Posted November 10, 2023 Here's mine! 1972 Buick Skylark Custom 2dr hardtop, converted from the 70 GSX kit. Mine was Flame Orange with a white vinyl top. I cribbed the front bench from the 70 Road Runner and converted it from there. The other is a 78 Chevy Monte Carlo built from the Trumpeter kit. I'd like to take another crack at that one with the MPC kit. 1
Roadrunner Posted November 10, 2023 Posted November 10, 2023 I've never been able to acquire a car model of a single real car that I've ever owned.
ea0863 Posted November 10, 2023 Posted November 10, 2023 I had a few cars I've replicated in scale in one form or another. Case in point is my 1992 Dodge Stealth RT that I thoroughly loved and put a hundred thousand miles on. The only reason I sold it was because the northeast winters and salt took a toll. When I did up a model of it back ten years or more ago, I couldn't find a suitable kit, so I got a dealer promo in 1:25th scale and modified it.

The closest I came at the time was a 1:25 scale model of a 1985 Trans Am by Monogram. I got everything close, but the rims and rear wing weren't quite the same. A third car was my 1998 Pontiac Firebird. It was generally replicated in 1:25th scale starting with a dealer promo. And finally, my son and I rebuilt a 1992 Mitsubishi 3000GT for him when he was in high school. I started with a 1:20 scale Lindberg, and had Enkei RPF1 rims 3D printed in matching scale. 1

kruleworld Posted December 2, 2023 Posted December 2, 2023 My second car was a Mazda 1200 wagon. no kit of the 1200 exists, let alone a wagon. i made this from a modified RX3. I used lots of body filler to heavily rework the car. 1
TarheelRick Posted December 2, 2023 Posted December 2, 2023 (edited) My 2022 F-150 STX: And here is as far as I have got replicating it. I do have matching paint for it. Edited December 2, 2023 by TarheelRick 1
bill-e-boy Posted December 5, 2023 Posted December 5, 2023 My 56 Dodge Custom Royal Lancer - and in 1/25th scale - MCW Resin Replicas kit The colours are the same as I hand mixed them And no it is not stock 1
gtx6970 Posted December 5, 2023 Posted December 5, 2023 I wish I could. NO one makes a kit or conversion parts to build a 1966 Satellite 1
6bblbird Posted December 6, 2023 Author Posted December 6, 2023 This was my NHRA Stock Eliminator car. I owned it from 1977 until just this February. It was a real A12 440 6bbl car. Ran one season with a HEMI (too expensive). The model is what I imagined it would have looked like brand new. I do have plans to build the race car version as well. 2
Rodent Posted December 6, 2023 Posted December 6, 2023 I have never owned an "easily" modeled car, but I do have a 1/43 diecast of my current daily driver on my desk at work. Pic from da interwebs.
Safire6 Posted December 6, 2023 Posted December 6, 2023 I built a Monogram Triumph TR8 a couple years ago and painted it white to match a friend's 1:1 TR8. In Sept. 2022 I bought a 1:1 Triumph TR7 (in Tahiti Blue) with only 14K miles on it. I put a ton of work into it and now a year later, it now runs great and looks good.
Safire6 Posted December 6, 2023 Posted December 6, 2023 Two of my younger brothers had 1:1 '66 Mustangs and another brother had a '88 (?) Trans Am. They sold them years ago so I don't have any pics of them but I built and painted the kits to match their 1:1 cars. I gave the models to them for Christmas a few years ago. The wheels on the TA were 3D printed. 1
Safire6 Posted December 6, 2023 Posted December 6, 2023 And my very first car was a 4-door '65 Galaxie 500 that I bought from my parents. I have a pic of it somewhere but can't locate it. When I first got back into modeling about 10 years ago I built this 2-door '66 Galaxie in the same colors as the 1:1. (I didn't take good pics back then!) 1
disconovaman Posted December 7, 2023 Posted December 7, 2023 1976 Nova Hatchback 30X original miles. Here's the model I built of it and the Matchbox I painted to match it. 1
