Nice custom truck taking shape here.

Does the kit allow for one to be built stock?

One of these would make up into a nice old well used beater.

Yes.  It's a 2 'n 1 kit.

Thanks for coming back about the kit being a 2 in 1 Bob.

You bet Noel.  It's plastic so as modelers we can make it into anything we want right?  At least it works for me sometimes ?

That's the nice thing about auto modelling as many subjects lend themselves to the builder's imagination.

Yes Sir.  Sometimes though I can Imagine what I want and see it but just can't seem to get it done.

I think I have settled in on a color.  Last night I figured out that I wanted a dark color so this morning I took a look at my paint stash in the house and found what I needed.  The bottle has been opened but I don't even remember what this paint was used on.  This is the Tamiya XF-63 German Grey acrylic paint so it will go on flat until I hit it with the X-22 clear.  Under directions from Tamiya's modeling team I have been using off the shelf lacquer thinner to thin their acrylic paints and it's been working out.

It was 42°, 85% humidity, damp, and cold outside this morning but in the garage it was 67° and the humidity was at 41%.  So, I got after it and got the 41 in primer.  I picked up a little trash on the fenders but that will sand out.  Looking pretty good.

Looking good my Friend./   Looks lighter than it looks in the bottle tho.

Thanks.  That's just primer on the body.  The paint in the bottle is the topcoat.

I had some decent weather yesterday so I shot the clear on the 41.  It's been in the Dehydrator for 10 hrs and still doesn't fell totally cured out so I'll put it back in for a few more hrs.

Looking good, have this kit in my stash, so keen to follow this and see how it turns out... Really impressed with how yours is coming together.

The exhaust system came out great, I love the repurposing of the mufflers. They work so well it looks like they came in the kit,

Great looking color.

Thanks David.  Yup, the mufflers worked out pretty nice and so did the German Grey.

Nice progress Bob. Very cool colour choice for the body. Looks like you are getting close on this one…

Thank's Steve.  I'm seeing the light at the end of the tunnel but there is still a lot of work that needs to be done.

I'm getting really close on this one fellows.  I still need to attach the gas tank filler neck, bumper brackets and bumpers, attach the sun visor, aaa the accel coil to the firewall and wire it.  I'll still need to do a final check and clean up and that will wrap it up.
