Yep, looks real nice Bob. The front grill on these trucks is pure art, love em.

Thank's Steve.  Yeah, I like all the bright work up front.

Looking great Bob, how many builds did you get done this year?

Thank's Roger.  Um...don't know for sure.  I'd say over a bakers dozen ?

Zippi, have you ever seen the 1942 Blackout models of these trucks...WWII devoid of any chrome? They actually look fairly modern for a War Era truck. I was doing one, a few years back, and got out of the hobby. Now I'm back and you got me wanting to do one of these 41's into a 42 war model.

I may have seen them and didn't know what they were called.  I think I'm more into the Restmods, Street Rods, and Pro Street.

They're pretty rare. Chevy only made a few thousand during the war, in 1942. As they were transitioned over in late 41, early 42 for the war effort. Any bright work was literally left bare steel, then painted a gunship grey/gray. That nice bright grille would be gray, right along with the bumpers, headlight bezel, door handles, and window trim. They are usually not restored in this manner as most want the bright chrome. A 1942 chevy pickup can fetch a princely sum.

Noticed you were a veteran...from one vet to another, Thanks for your service. Combat wounded OIF/OEF 03/05
