NOBLNG Posted November 15, 2023 Posted November 15, 2023 (edited) This is a nice little kit considering when it was tooled. It does have some issues that need to be addressed, but it builds up fairly nicely I think. Scratch built items include the pedals, shifter, turn signal lever, horn ring, door openers, defrost vents, washer bottle and nozzles, mirrors, exhaust outlets and headlight screens. Thanks for looking!? Build thread here: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/185470-amt-1953-corvette/ Edited November 16, 2023 by NOBLNG 9
happy grumpy Posted November 15, 2023 Posted November 15, 2023 Very well done Greg. Classic color and that dash is a real eye candy.
espo Posted November 15, 2023 Posted November 15, 2023 Great attention to the fine details of this stock looking build. While the convertible looks a little goofy, the real car looked just like this. When I would visit my grandparents as a child one of their neighbors was a doctor and had one of these in the driveway that I would droll over whenever I visited. Looked just like this build.
Classicgas Posted November 15, 2023 Posted November 15, 2023 Very nice. How did you do the headlight screens?
Rattlecan Dan Posted November 15, 2023 Posted November 15, 2023 Very nice work (and plenty of it). Gorgeous build.

Thanks David. Other than detailing, I just dropped the front end a bit. 2 hours ago, Classicgas said: Very nice. How did you do the headlight screens? Thanks, I show in my build thread how I first flattened some mesh before cutting them out. 1 hour ago, Rattlecan Dan said: Very nice work (and plenty of it). Gorgeous build. Thank You Dan.?

AMT68 Posted November 15, 2023 Posted November 15, 2023 Great factory looking build and excellent paint and panel line detailing. 1
Yeah Nah Posted November 15, 2023 Posted November 15, 2023 Turned out beautiful Greg. The windshield frame and headlight grilles are a standard I'll try and aim for on the 53 (and 55) I have in my stash. 1
karbuildr Posted November 15, 2023 Posted November 15, 2023 Well done Corvette, nice paint in classic white, very nice interior. 1

Zippi Posted November 16, 2023 Posted November 16, 2023 Mighty fine lookin there Greg. That engine looks nice setting down in all that white. Great looking build dude. 1
Justin Porter Posted November 16, 2023 Posted November 16, 2023 That's really such a great result. The finished model almost hides the sheer amount of work it took to get here from there. 1
dino246gt Posted November 17, 2023 Posted November 17, 2023 Fantastic result! The kit itself needs work, and you did it! And you went over the top on some extra "attention to detail" Sweet! 1
Sledsel Posted November 17, 2023 Posted November 17, 2023 Great job on it. The extras set it off nicely. I do not have the 53 but I do have the 55 which is probably about the same kit and it is pretty nice piece. Yea, these old kits need some attention but they look good when done. 1
