Hi all…I’ve had this infamous MPC kit in my stash since the early 90’s. Decided to dig it out. We all know about this kit and its lousy chassis and inner wheel wells etc. I’ve got an AMT Duster and a Revell 69 Dart, but they’re both still unopened and I didn’t want to raid them for chassis and other things. So, I looked at this kit and decided that the thing that bugged me most was the inner fender wells under the hood. I decided I could live with the chassis, if I could get it to look a little better under the hood. Then I remembered that I had a Revell dart body in my spare parts box that I had picked up at a meet for a couple bucks, figuring that it would be worth it to have in case of emergency should I ever get around to the Dart lol. So I cut out the wheel wells from it and then those huge crappy blobs in the barracuda and fiddled until they fit just right. Didn’t take much. Paint is Tamiya Titanium Gold. The black stripes were crinkled on the sheet so I used the white. I should’ve gotten aftermarket replacements because these are a disappointment, but for now it’s what it is, and at least I won’t feel sorry for the kit anymore everytime I gaze at my stash of unbuilt stuff lol. Thanks for looking! ?1E7AA2CB-2183-4291-968D-27EF68467335.thumb.jpeg.39a9056810be45f5a142796d81646e79.jpeg18BEACE9-1BEB-43EA-B7C9-2646AFEE3C54.thumb.jpeg.84621f5916f87821ac54a8c59fb19fa2.jpeg64BE2CB7-8DC5-4963-A6E4-2E84B5A233B0.thumb.jpeg.801657df6282d88cc79b4fb4ceaf8c14.jpeg2F93294B-3BA8-41BA-B26B-8105119BC445.thumb.jpeg.a612fe650bba61e4ead25bf57aac10da.jpeg5110F4D5-3A0B-4BFA-AFD9-7176FD4A7625.thumb.jpeg.7d42d6cdc45f95add0ff59dfb737dee5.jpeg435F4A58-77F0-42BC-91A8-59CA475D3775.thumb.jpeg.fa7144c61d0d483fd8f3bef7852c4ce2.jpeg20831270-05EA-45F4-9651-768F242D004C.thumb.jpeg.66d0d040e93cddcac307b1024e668de8.jpeg39F8319D-E541-4BCF-A542-52E16BF2EAE7.png.0a2c262885869e39b7a012aa92778627.png165DBA5F-0464-4AA7-8187-BA3572AA253D.thumb.jpeg.b74d7e30640fabc78f4d6458cbf1d4be.jpeg

Very cleanly built. I like the pale gold with the white stripes. Very subtle.

The gold color and smooth finish show the body lines well. Nice low stans.

Thanks guys! I couldn’t choose a color, glad I picked this. ?

That kit has always been a tough one to make look realistic. However, you pulled it off!

The upgraded engine compartment is a major improvement.
