Hi fellows,

Sometimes life send you signals that you chose to ignore, sometimes the signal is loud and clear. After a few days of not feeling so good I went for tests and found out that I have a major heart artery blockage problem. I will have to go under for a triple bypass which was quite a shock because the symptoms were minimal. I am not worried about the surgery though I am in very good hands, this hospital has the best heart surgeons. I have  a few rough days to come but after that I should go back to my usual "happy grumpiness". This incident made me re think my retirement plan. I was due to retire next august at 68th birth day but after this I am going to focus on me so this might be  a blessing in disguise. I have several models completed but did not have  time to photograph them so I’ll have a lot to post then.

I don’t know when but like the terminator would say, ‘’ I’ll be back ‘’

Cheers and take care.

Get well, and you ought to be eligible for your max SSI at this point, so retirement isn't all that bad trust me.

Prayers for your quick recovery.

Just follow the doctor's orders completely and no more than he recommends. Trying too much too soon only lengthens recovery time.

That from my wife who has 4 heart surgeries and over did after the first one.

Good luck. I had a triple done in 2016 and I was the guy who coded in the ER. I was kept in a coma for almost 5 days. So my recovery was tougher than most. I was out of work for 3 months, I should have stayed out. SSDI pays more than SS. I was only 61 at the time.

I had people around to help. I had 12 sessions of home PT and a nurse that came by once a week. The cats stayed close to me.

I was a hot mess in comparison to those who go into surgery like civilized folk.

I drove myself to the ER, the hospital was 4 miles down the causeway by my house. I got a rock star parking spot, made 2 calls to people on the way into the ER.

Once in triage, the last thing I remember was having my BP checked.

Glad to see you had the sense to get checked out before something happened! So many people ignore it when they're not feeling right, and then it's too late.

The docs will get you fixed up in no time. I'm guessing they'll get you into surgery pretty quick.

And congrats on retirement!

:)

Hope you have a speedy recovery - like Dan said, good thing you had yourself checked out.

I worked with a guy who was having chest pains at work, 2 years before my HA. He refused and offers to go to the ER and went home.

His wife came home and wanted to take him to the ER. He said he would go to the family doctor in the morning. Well... he never made it to the next day.

This is probably part of what saved me. Almost 8 years ago to this day.
