Well that's not a new tool now is it? 🤣

Plus the car in the Stranger Things is an 8 Series, not a 7 Series.

Stranger Things 4: Steve Harrington’s car is peak ’80s BMW

Actually, the BMW sedan in Stranger Things is an ‘83 733, of the E23 generation, earlier than the older RoG kit.

Since I’ve never watched the series, I had no way of knowing that. Thanks for clearing that up.

Well I stand corrected the original info I saw months ago said it was an 833. Must have been that it's an '83 733...too many darn 3s!

Irregardless it's still not a new tool, or the right generation of BMW. Not a real way to "backdate" the original RoG kit show either since that was manufactured decades before CAD/CAM.

Back in the late '80's Italeri showed 3 possible new automotive kit releases in one of their catalogs, but only one made it as a kit; The Volvo 760. The other two were a Jaguar XJ Mk I Series III and a BMW 7 series like you show in your post, Rob.

Cheers!

I know nothing of the Stranger Things series but that pizza van looks like it could be a fun build. Anyone have a review of the kit?

The kit has been around since the early 80s and all of the various releases are fundamentally all the same, so any review of it will cover the new one (minus the 3 new parts and decals).

Did Revell have a display at NNL East?

No they were not there, neither was Atlantis, only Round2 in attendance.

Has anyone heard any rumours as to whether Revell will be reissuing the ‘77 Monte Carlo snap kit in the near or distant future?

I can’t recall the last time it was out, but it seems long enough that it might be low hanging fruit for them to add another one into their product planning lineup.

Isn’t that kit the old Magnum P.I. Island Hoppers van?

Basically but it has the lower grill to signify that it's a water cooled van versus the air cooled Island hopper/every other version of the T3 van.

Actually, Some of the other issues of this Vanagon have had the Second grill (Water Cool grill)

as a Decal. Now it is finally a styrene part.

I have the original Orange Joker Camper issue, "Krankentransporter"(Ambulance), Fire Department "ELW"

U.N Bus And this New 'Pizza Boy' issue. Yes this kit was offered as the "Magnum PI" Island Hoppers Bus WAY back when

I think the vent in the rear roof pillars should be filled in if you build it as a water cooled version.

Now.......Will we see that Styrene Secondary grill offered in later versions of this kit????

I traded 2 of the original camper to get a sealed Ambulance.

I now have 2 more Ambulance kits, 1 sealed inside and 1 started but incomplete.

I have 2 of the ELW. both complete unstarted, but 1 missing the instructions.

The only difference in the ELW and standard Bud is the placement of the second seat. (Lead/Front bench)

It is reversed facing a table and the third seat.

The 2 benches are included in this kit so a standard bus can be built

I also have one of the second issue of the Westfalia Joker (White over blue built on the boxart

Can you tell I like the Vanagon?

There were so many versions of this kit, I lost track.
Have the tyres become less rubbish in later issues?

no but there are some great 3d ones and all the vw option wheels. Other then the early aircooled engine everything is available to do any body version. I suspect we'll see some special edition kits soon as it 75 years of the transporter this year and since its an anniversary for the british transit too we have something special planned for our vintage rally this year. And another surprise too thats very special......

IIRC it wasn't a different body tool. They merely included blanking plates for the rear window openings.

See what I found.
VW T3 Transporter, Revell Nr. 7382 That kit could be a plumber's car one day if Revell is on board.
