Radretireddad Posted March 24 Posted March 24 (edited) This is the newly released Tamiya 240Z street custom kit built OTB in the NA market Datsun 240Z version replete with my signature body colored engine accents. As one might expect being a Tamiya kit the attention to detail, fit, and finish are other worldly. No BMF was harmed in the building of this kit. Every single bit of bright work on this car are either separate chrome plated parts or adhesive backed metal transfers. That includes the a/c vents in the dash, emblems, lock cylinders and the frames around the side marker and tail lights. The trumpets on the webers are six individual aluminum pieces. All the black bumper trim are also separate parts that had to be individually painted and assembled on to both bumpers. The lengths they went to to differentiate the jdm version from the na version are also extremely accurate right down the gages and the lettering on the under hood ID plate. The color is Tamiya X-6 orange. I highly recommend buying and building this kit but be prepared to get good at working with lots of very small parts. Thanks for looking. Belugawrx Posted March 24 Posted March 24 Nice ! Are those 2 piece minilite wheels..? Looking good (2thumsup)
Pete J. Posted March 24 Posted March 24 I bought one also that I need to get on with! I had a 1972 in lime yellow. Scale Motor Finishes got me the paint. I am going to build my with the twin SU carbs. I had a yellow brown interior. Loved that car. Wish I still had it.
rrb124@sbcglobal.net Posted March 24 Posted March 24 Over the top Z build. Top Tamiya kit. Love the color. Thanks for showing this to everyone.
Spottedlaurel Posted March 24 Posted March 24 Looks fantastic! It's a really nicely detailed kit and great to see an older subject given modern standards of kit design and engineering, you've really done it justice.
STU111 Posted March 24 Posted March 24 Truly awesome work! That is stunning. I have this kit, it’s one of my all time favourite cars. I’ll start building it when my skills are better. Again, that’s a great looking Z car. Thanks for sharing. 👍🏻

DJMar Posted March 25 Posted March 25 Always great to see a Z! She's a beauty, and super clean. I'm digging the color, too. I don't have this kit yet, but I think you might have just sold me on one.
tahiti7 Posted March 25 Posted March 25 Wow, that is beautiful! The trim details especially around all the glass is amazing.
