carl63_99 Posted April 2 Posted April 2 A week turned into a couple days, after I got other business out of the way. My philosophy with builds like this is to capture the iconic look of the classic, while integrating modern 'touches' to take advantage of better technology. So, while she looks like a classic from a distance, up close you notice Mercedes rims and Brembo brakes. Then, under the hood reveals an Audi R8 v8 engine and transaxle to provide a bit more power and reliability. This was a fun build, taking my time and working on each 'problem' until I had a good solution. I'm happy with the results. I was able to add rear shocks, a new steering wheel, as the original disappeared, and set up the exhaust to barely show. Enjoy! 10 1
Bugatti Fan Posted April 2 Posted April 2 You nailed it with this one Carl ! A nice custom job that retains the lines of the original car with good choice of wheels, colour and trim. 1
Rattlecan Dan Posted April 3 Posted April 3 Some slick engineering. Gave it a great custom look. Nice work. 1
ncbuckeye67 Posted April 3 Posted April 3 That's pretty amazing! You may have given me an idea for my club build. I have to build a 30's car (but I really love restomods). 1
happy grumpy Posted April 3 Posted April 3 Great mod on this classic. A Cordaudi. Has a nice ring to it. 1
Ken Car-Fanatic Posted April 4 Posted April 4 This makes me smile! Very nicely done & a great looking build on a great idea! That is really cool.... beautiful! 1
espo Posted April 5 Posted April 5 Great drive line swap that would make sense on a 1:1 Cord. Like the paint color and clean body lines. The interior is a good compliment to the paint finish. 1
XYHARRY Posted April 14 Posted April 14 Cool subject for a restomod, real 'outside the box' stuff. Well done Carl.
David G. Posted April 24 Posted April 24 I love all the upgrades you made to this one Carl. I also enjoyed following your WIP on this build. The results are fabulous! David G. 1
