hedotwo Posted August 10 Posted August 10 Finished up this 59 Olds flattop yesterday after a long build. Happy it's done and in the display case. Lots of time spent on the stance as the stock johan kit is slammed too much for factory stock IMO. Factory 59 Olds Russet color is from Scalefinishes with a Tamiya TS-7 off white contrast. Did the wider whitewalls with Tamiya white primer then sprayed flat clear. Revell chrome spray and BMF for all the brightwork. Thanks 32
Phildaupho Posted August 10 Posted August 10 Very attractive. I have always liked 59 Oldsmobiles since I saw my first real custom car in 1962 which was a 59 Olds. I wish I have got a kit or resin body when they were still available
1959 Posted August 10 Posted August 10 Very nice! I like 59 Olds very much and this reminds a of one 98 flattop that was in my home town in the late 80's. Color combo and paint job is excellent on this build. Well done! Kimmo
Maindrian Pace Posted August 10 Posted August 10 Beautiful job, those cars are factory customs and just command attention.
Jim B Posted August 10 Posted August 10 Great looking Oldsmobile. Well done. Lots of chrome on that one!
Zippi Posted August 10 Posted August 10 I tell you what Rich, Looker. Olds is a looker. Very nice looking.
espo Posted August 10 Posted August 10 Beautiful paint finish and colors. Clean looking chrome trim and what you can see of the interior it also looks well done and the color match the exterior.
Cosmic D Posted August 10 Posted August 10 Unusual to find four door versions of 50's vehicles. Your research and detail really show. Nice work to be proud of. Don't you wish the Jo-Han molds still existed?
meechum68 Posted August 11 Posted August 11 That color combo and those lines are gorgeous!!! Phenomenal work!!
DJMar Posted August 11 Posted August 11 She's a beauty! The color combo really pops. Excellent build.
