My wife bought this kit for me and it has been lingering in the stash for quite some time.  I painted the body a deep blue but it now slips my mind as to what kind of paint I used.  It's a simple snap tight kit; curbside and no real undercarriage detail.  I've done very little bare metal foil work previously so I figured I would make this an exercise in BMF application.  The BMF turned out OK, doesn't really stand up to close inspection but looks nice sitting on the shelf.  While BMF still seems to be the best option for chrome detail I still dread using it.  Perhaps with more practice I won't mind it so much.

Nicely done! Bare metal foil looks really good as well as the paint. I myself need a lot of practice using bmf.

Great paint finish and the dark blue looks good. Chrome foil can take a while to get comfortable with.

That's a beautiful car.  Deep blue with the chrome is very eye-catching. BMF looks very good to me... takes some serious voodoo to use that stuff.

Good looking Chevy. I dig the dark blue hue, and the Halibrands set it off nicely. Your foil work looks good, too. Like painting, foiling is a life-long pursuit.

Nice build.  Bare metal does take practice but the nice thing is if you screw up which I often do I can just reapply it.

looks great. These Revell snap kits are nice.  If you want to get better at bmf just foil a 50s car.   My bmf skills were so so till I built a 59 Ford Skyliner.  It was much easier after that.

Nice build.  Good work on the paint. I find the applying BMF is easier to do in several short sessions rather than one long session.

I have a love hate relationship with BMF, I love the look of it, but it hates me when l use it!😂 Seriously though, that is a really nice looking 57, love the stance and the wheels. 👍🏻
