Jaguar E Type - Heller

Something that would fit the paddock at Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion or Goodwood. 

Neither stock nor a time attack car. Something in between.  oem+ is my goal.

For a starter kit it’s pretty complex with a tad vague instructions, quick to ruin a beginners day I would say. But it’s very detailed and impressive fit so far. I’m pretty impressed considering the cost of approximately a rattle can of primer. It’s a subject matter I could see building many times over in different colours and configs. I am not a Jaguar expert so bear with me.

Looks good so far. But beware that I recently built one and didn't check the body top fit onto the base/chassis unit. The body was too big to fit onto the bottom chassis section all round too big an overlap to get the right fit. I had to purchase the Revell version and that was perfect! A lot more expensive but it fitted together perfectly.

Thanks for the tip, I definitely considered where it might lead. Having built three heller kits. One was a disaster for fit, the other two worked a charm I took a risk here on sale it was too good to pass up  a canvas for learning at worst. I love using my dremel and glue bomb when needed 😄.

@PatW yikes! What a mess of a kit this is.

One morning I worked deeper into the instructions and did some test fitting… Im going with the base of Revell 😂. The choices heller made to build up the kit will take me weeks/months to fix to a lesser standard of just using a better base. Having said that it will make a cool kit bash build or something else entirely one day. Here’s to an improved new start.
