Dragonhawk1066 Posted Saturday at 11:11 PM Posted Saturday at 11:11 PM Here's my Revell 1970 Shelby GT500. It's painted in a mixture of Kaleido Colorworks Sunset Orange and Orange-Yellow. I cleared it with Kaleido Colorworks Gloss Varnish and it was then wet-sanded, polished, and waxed. I used Bare Metal Foil for the trim. The hood stripe decals were just not going to behave so I masked off and painted those stripes with Kaleido Black Primer and no clear. The interior is painted in Kaleido Colorworks Off White and I added embossing powder for the carpet and door lock knobs for extra detail. The engine is painted in Kaleido Colorworks Freedom Blue with spark plug wires, heater hoses, and a coil made from an extra shock absorber for extra detail. I used Kaleido Colorworks Stainless Steel on the wheels and added valve stems from MCVProducts.com. The white letter decals are from the Revell Diamonds are Forever Mach 1 kit. The sub-assemblies were a breeze, but final assembly gave me a bit of a headache. Mostly self-inflicted, but a couple of fit issues as well. I did come out victorious in the end and am very happy with the final outcome. Thanks for looking! 14

dphipps Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago Looks great, and looks right at home in the shop display. Do you like the paints? I was just looking at them on amazon, their sponsored link got me. They look nice but not too many reviews

Fortunately the wood grain trim is on the decal sheet and actually fits pretty good.

As are their primers and varnishes. I only airbrush water-based paints and got the hang of using the Kaleido pretty quickly. I have a 10% off coupon code to use at the checkout if you're interested enough in making an order. Just type in SGSShop in the code area. I've also done a few videos demonstrating the paints on my YouTube channel. Here's my initial testing video... 1
bisc63 Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago Very sharp, and your detailing is very cleanly executed. Gorgeous "butterscotch" color you mixed looks exactly right for the period. Well done.
Bainford Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Nice, tidy Shelby. Good looking paint work. Looks like a decent stand-in for Grabber Orange. Well done.
