Ron a.k.a. Grouchy Pants Posted April 15, 2011 Posted April 15, 2011 While I do believe reading is a good thing and if it's not that I hope everything is ok. Could you please talk him into possibly doing a little less reading . Cause I just can't wait for another update on this project. It's unbelievable. I love it!! I have an extra pair of shorts ready just for the occassion.
MikeMc Posted April 15, 2011 Posted April 15, 2011 Randy, you have to check this out it made me think of yours when I seen it. wow 20,000 hours, and it runs!!!
Risto Posted April 15, 2011 Posted April 15, 2011 OMG!! We rivet counters will have a field day with this! Amazing work!
Hattley Posted April 15, 2011 Posted April 15, 2011 Not bad for your first time out. Have you ever built any slot cars?

Dr. Cranky Posted April 15, 2011 Posted April 15, 2011 Lordy, that's beautiful! Amazing, keep it going.
DiscoSpud Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 Randy would you be at all disturbed if I said I was nursing a semi right now? This is the most gorgeous and detailed rat rod I have ever seen! I was thinking, wow working steering that's just amazing, but then i saw the fuel line plubing and the vaccuum advance on the distributor and I lost it! Well done mate, this level of detail is even more than you would expect from the Franklin Mint collection!
gasser59 Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 Mere words cannot begin to express the realism shown on this amazing build. Every post and the bar goes up five notches. I'm on my second five gallon bucket of drool and you've not gotten to the body or truck bed yet. I'm gonna need more buckets. Lots more buckets.
Erik Smith Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 (edited) Randy - thanks for the posts on the firewall construction. I have been staring at the whole post again. I like to see lots of common, household items being used to produce such great results. It's inspirational. I really like the look of the copper on the interior floor pan. Thanks a million for photographing and posting as you go! Oh, great photo quality too. Edited April 16, 2011 by Coyotehybrids
David G. Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 Each update is more impressive than the last. I've often dreampt of doing a build like this. David G.
highway Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 Randy would you be at all disturbed if I said I was nursing a semi right now? I don't think I even want to know what that means!!!
Randy D Posted April 18, 2011 Author Posted April 18, 2011 (edited) Sorry for taking so long for this update, that pesky real life Hello Paul, I goggled that name and WOW, that is some impressive modeling! Hi Virgil, Thank you:) Aaron, Thank you but I really think you Aussies should get out more Hi Brad, Thank you Erik, Thank you for the kind words Hi David, Thanks for commenting! I hear you Mark Finishing up on the trany with hydraulic clutch details and speedo and backup light cables... Have got get the wiring straighted out... Had some 1/35 scale tread plate that will work on the floor of the cab, trimed with some brass... Really liked a bomber style bench seat that was in the new 'Street Rodder' mag. Josh Mishler photo, Discussion only.. Mock up a seat... Edited April 18, 2011 by Randy D
Randy D Posted April 18, 2011 Author Posted April 18, 2011 Riveting the floor plates and painting them copper....... Solder up a seat... That is all for now, Comments are always welcome! Randy
Custom Hearse Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 Oh man! This build just keeps getting more and more awesome! There are so many cool details to look at, it's hard to believe that this is 1/24th scale! I would love to see this in person someday! Keep up the good work!
Tumbler75 Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 This is simply amazing! I love the attn to detail that is being put into this! So when is the first initial firing of the engine?? LoL Every update brings this masterpiece alive even more. Great work, I love it. Can't wait to see more.
LAone Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 this is too cool. will be waiting patiently for more updates. reality tends to slow things down, i feel you randy..
gasser59 Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 It will be a shame to cover all of this up with a body. Hopefully the doors and hood will be openable. Can't wait to see more especially the truck bed, whatever you have in mind I'm sure it will be stellar.
Ron a.k.a. Grouchy Pants Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 (edited) Hi Randy, Thank You!! Incredible work! I thought the same thing of the seat when I saw it in the mag, thats gonna look great, actually they already do I love the treads to, I never would of thought of something like that. The way you trimmed them out and all is really stunning. The more I look at it the more I find. It's something else man. Edited April 19, 2011 by Ron a.k.a. Grouchy Pants
doomcrew Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 randy my friend, this is simply excellent. i'm looking forward to seeing this done, so i will keep watching. steve
pharr7226 Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 Randy would you be at all disturbed if I said I was nursing a semi right now? My stomach hurts from laughing so hard. That may be the funniest thing I've seen on this site.
