Dan....mine is Vapor Blue as well.  I really wanted Grabber Blue Metallic (I was apparently well known at the Ford Design Center for my preference for Grabber Blue Mustangs), but my wife did not like that color.  I deferred to Vapor Blue at order time not knowing what it actually looked like out in the real world.  Now that i've seen it (on 2023 Escapes and Lincoln Corsairs) it is much too gray for my liking.  Oh well...rowing that V8 through the gears should more than make up for it!

Best....TB

Yeah, it's definitely more grey than blue. I like it, but not as much as I like Grabber Blue. Or Race Red. I'm a big fan of what I call "crayon colours" on performance cars.

Wonder if i could convince my wife to take a road trip to Vermont....naw..no chance of that; too bad.

(For those of you who do not know Tim, i recall getting a ride in Tim's new 1976 Black Cutlass Supreme Brougham, one of the sharpest looking cars of the entire 1973-77 Colonnade era Cutlasses i ever saw.  Come to think of it, the velour-like pillowed black interior was really cool too...)  TB

You are sure welcome anytime if you manage to convince her.  Vermont is a beautiful place to visit, even outside of my basement.

I do remember that road trip in my Cutlass.  As I recall, Chuck was with us, and we went down to visit Tom Woodruff.  That was in about 1976-7.  Who’da thunk that trip may have been precursor to NNL#1 a couple of years later?

Daily driver is a 2017 Genesis G80.

Fun car is a recenlty acquired 2008 Corvette C6 convertible.

I had a 2008 convertible as well. Ridiculously fast and fun to drive. I miss that car.

From the past. I retired in the summer of 2005 and it happened to be my birthday month. My wife had listened to me wax on about wanting either a '65 GTO or even a new one. I almost fell out of my chair when she said to get whichever one I wanted. I went for the new one because it would be faster, last longer with less repairs and had all the niceties of the newer cars.

In the winter I mainly drive a Wrangler.  So far nothing seems to phase it as far as bad roads are concerned.  In the summer I flip back and forth between the Jeep and my 2013 Honda Civic Si coupe.  Both are great fun in the summer for totally different reasons.

My 2024 (that's the mostly all new one) Mustang GT Convertible 5.0L manual is scheduled to be built at Ford's Flat Rock assembly plant today.....TB

I’m driving a 4cyl Mazda in my retirement years these days but my last drive-to-work car was a Stirling Silver 2011 GT 6 spd (first year of the mighty Coyote). Drove it 81K miles, ZERO problems,  Michilin Pilot SS tires transformed the handling, my favorite car of the +20 I’ve had. Unfortunately I had to sell it in 2017 to pay for a new roof 🥲. The thing I miss the most is the sound of that engine on cold starts in the morning with the windows down.

Im jealous. Post us some pics when you take delivery.

My daily driver JL Rubicon. Wanted a retro vibe so I drew up some stripes in Illustrator loosely based on the '83-84 CJ Renegades and sent those off to a vinyl shop to be cut. Added some 35s on modern "soft 8" wheels. Factory half doors and a soft top were must haves as well. My full doors and hardtop have not been back on even thru the winter.PXL_20221021_190545827.thumb.jpg.063cd4b00dbaf8935db4e831f643ce84.jpgPXL_20221018_235046207.thumb.jpg.acbc58f99795be1dbb64fde32e44e7b6.jpg

Will be driving this shortly. 2004 Lincoln Town Car Signature. 110,000 miles and I'm the third owner. It has the typical Town Car rust (around the rear wheel openings) and it's spent a lot of time sitting but overall in fantastic condition for a 19 year old Michigan car. Interior has one cigarette burn but otherwise just needs a little dusting.

I would suggest exploring the Tire Rack site. Besides offering several different brands they also really do test their products and also get feedback from real customers and post it as well. The part that I like and have used for a few tire purchases is their spec sheet on each tire as to the diameter, width, revelations per mile, and suggested wheel width. They do also offer several brands of wheels. You can even get a wheel and tire combination shipped to you already mounted, balanced, and tire pressure censors if needed. As for your OEM tire size, to use as a base line, I wonder if the 215/50x16 tire size you mention is correct. Verify the size with the door sticker and owner's manual if you have one. The tire Rack site can give you the correct OEM size based on some simple vehicle information. I have bought several sets of tires as well as tire & wheel combinations through the years and will be doing that again when I'm ready for my next set.

I did go with Tire Rack for both cars; Goodyear Assurance on both (205/55R16 on the Cougar). Been happy with them so far.

Took the Cougar to a car club meet up in Atascadero two weeks ago; ran without a hitch there and back and got around 29-30 mpg.

And a week after I got home: dead battery. I noticed I'd left the mp3 player plugged in the cigarette lighter, so... Jumped it, started right up, drove it for about 30-45 minutes, unplugged the player and parked it. Next Sunday - dead again; guess it wasn't the player. Will get that checked out soon, as I really enjoy driving it.

Sometimes if a battery is on the edge running all the way down will cause it to fail. With modern cars and all the electrical this and that it's hard to get more than four or five years on an OEM battery. That sais I got almost nine years on the OEM battery in our '10 Dodge Charger. Man, they are expensive.

Well, I made a vehicle change. Again.

Got rid of the 2022 Mach-E GT and the 2022 F150 XLT.

Replaced them both with this.

2023 F150 Lightning XLT.

Have been driving this for a few weeks now. Already did a family vacation roadtrip into the mountains of BC, with zero drama.

Got a new ride recently so I figured I’d bump this topic. Not sure how popular/common these are in the US, but it’s a nice car to drive.

Cool wagon.  Definitely not available in the US.  What is it?

Thanks! It’s a late 2015 Skoda Octavia VRS, originally a Czech brand now in the VAG group. The chassis, power and drivetrain are essentially VW Golf. The VRS cars (stands for victory rally sport) are top range offerings. Mine is a 184 horsepower 2 litre TDI six speed manual. There is also a slightly more powerful petrol version (basically the Golf GTI), and they also come with DSG shifters.
